I make about 1300 Euro per month and in Sweden, especially in the cities, that's terrible.

I'm currently NEET, but before I quit my job, I was making $14.00 per hour. That sounds like a decent wage, but it was some hot, backbreaking work, that only worsened my depression. Also, similar jobs at other companies paid around $18.00-$22.00 per hour. They tried to balance this out by having a "company culture". If you don't know what that means, then imagine joining a company, but it feels more like you're joining a cult. I'm much happier now. There's no use in money if you can't enjoy it.

What's the huge deal with overtime? I always see this on the internet. Do Americans not get paid for the extra hours?

We get payed 1.5x our usual rate when we get overtime. When we work holidays like Christmas they usually pay you up 2-3x your rate.
Unless you are salaries employers legally have to pay you this rate if you go over every time you go over 40 hours a week or in some cases over 8 hours a day.

380 usd a month in my country's currency, it's below poverty line these days, but I get by because I live with my family.
My job is boring and unproductive, but for now it allows me to have enough time to study and some money to spend on my stuff, so whatever, as long as I don't get stuck here for more than 5 years, I will be okay.
