not really definable. Again nigga, pick up an actual art-history text book. Yeah, some post-modern artists were in it for the shock factor, some weren't. I personally find a Rothko painting immensely moving and see no particular value in whatever Pollock was up to. Both have been argued not to be art (as has at one point jazz, R&B, rock, etc.), but I don't find that particular discussion very interesting. Maybe Rothko isn't art, but I enjoy it tremendously anyway. Maybe Pollock is art and I don't enjoy it. I'm much more interested in exploring my own reactions to individual artworks than in defining whether something is art/music/whathaveyou.
