Why aren't you using the most Jow Forums appropriate cooking utensil? >retains the most nutrients >requires only 20 minutes or so of food prep for days of meals >can freeze and thaw food as needed >ingredients are cheap as fuck but fucking delicious
Made texmex the other day >roll chicken breasts in flour, coat further with taco seasoning mix, add to oil-coated crockpot >add peppers, frozen corn, salsa, further spices if desired >cover with lid, 4h high/8h low >stir, serve on rice with cheese and onion if desired Easy as fuck
I use my crockpot twice a week for meal prep. I wish I’d gotten a bigger one. Shit has changed my life.

I made dr. pepper pulled pork the other day, was surprisingly delicious. I expected it to be overwhelmingly sweet, but it was great

TRUST ME ON THIS CRACK CHICKEN
2 lbs boneless chicken thighs, seasoned with abobo and dried herbs 1 can cream of chicken soup 1 onion, small dice, caramelized in butter 1 clove garlic, minced 8 oz cream cheese (or more if you want it super creamy) 2-3 oz minced ham (bonus points for rind), or more if you love ham 4 tablespoons of your favorite salsa or hot sauce 1/4-1/2 cup good quality pickle juice (i dont use sweet pickle juice, Klausen brand garlic pickles have the best juice for this imo) (If you want it juicier, add some chicken stock. I usually add 1/4 cup halfway through cooking, but i always eyeball it)
cook in the crock until the meat is extremely tender (3-4 hours HIGH, 6-8 hours LOW)
ABSOLUTE HHNNNGGGH

It's a digital pressure cooker that makes it less likely to pipe bomb yourself and also has an auto timer like a crock pot honestly it's fucking great, would recommend.
wtf am I looking at here? are you implying this is made in a crock pot?
Austin Morris
I've got a carnitas recipe that mostly uses a crockpot. Take about 3lbs of pork shoulder and dry rub it with oregano, sage, and cumin. Add it to the pot with the juice of one orange, one diced and seeded jalapeño, one diced onion. Cook 10 hours. Before eating, pull the meat out and shred it, and give it a brief pan fry to crisp the edges, but leave the middle tender. If you put this stuff in a tortilla with a cherry salsa or a peach salsa, there will be no leftovers.

Got this one recently and you can use the aluminium pot on the stove, made rouladen and now I have a whole chicken in there, lets see how it turns out after 7h. Not sure if 3.5l is enough but I couldnt find any slow cookers with stove proof pots like this one.
Every winter I use mine to make Perpetual Stew. Just buy whatever meat and veggies are on sale that week, cook them for 8 hours. When it gets to about 1/4 left, do it again, just keep it going. Run it on high for about an hour every day to kill anything that would cause food poisoning and you're good. By the last few weeks of winter the stew is so rich and complex and flavorful, it's amazing.

/ck/ is pretty much fast food board, they don't even know how to cook

Slow cooker chicken taco soup
It’s also good over rice. 2 cups of broth is just a base amount. This soup ends up being really chunky, so if you want it soupier then add more broth as desired. Makes about 5 quarts.
* 1 onion * 15 oz can of Tomato Sauce * 2 cups chicken broth * 1 can whole kernel corn, drained * 1 can Black Beans * 1 can Chili Beans * 2 10 oz cans of Rotel * 2 1 oz packs of Hot and Spicy Taco seasoning * 3 boneless skinless chicken breasts * 1 cup concentrated lemon juice * (optional) 1 jalapeño, seeds and all, chopped fine
Add all canned vegetables, spice mix, broth and fresh vegetables to your slow cooker. Stir until mixed well, then place chicken breasts in the cooker so that they’re covered by the soup. Cook on low for 8 hours, then remove chicken and shred.

You sound like a working class chump. I bet you thought it would be a great "investment", how you would wake up to a warm, healthy breakfast to start off your long day. Maybe, you even had a couple thoughts about all the other nifty little uses you could find for the thing, how it would help you cook healthier meals in general, shed a couple pounds off the old gut, boost your confidence around work and with the ladies. Yeah, maybe that slow cooker would start your life cooking again, wouldn't it? I can see your strained hands holding the box and reading through it carefully at the store. A little bit pricey, but you're the type of guy who thinks everything is more than you can spend, aren't you. And look what happened to you. Look what the slow cooker did to you. Fucked you over, and made you clean it like a useless bitch. You don't even fucking like oatmeal. Piece of shit, you've been repeating those three words your whole life, haven't you. Yeah, how was work after that piece of shit fucked you over? I bet it was on your mind the whole day, you probably didn't say shit to nobody. Can't be telling people about your mistakes. How your little fix yourself plan, failed you. Don't want people to start thinking you're the failure. You're the piece of shit, all along. You don't want that do you? You don't want to be the piece of shit everybody secretly whispers about, do you? Was your father a piece of shit like you? I bet he never had a slow cooker. He had a woman, a house, a damn good job. I bet it's slow cooking you the fuck alive, isn't it. Comparing yourself to him. How one day when all the steam runs our of your life, you'll discover how you're nothing more than burnt shit to be scrapped off and thrown in the trash.

>>roll chicken breasts in flour, coat further with taco seasoning mix, add to oil-coated crockpot
If you're ostensibly stewing the meat in some liquid, you don't need to coat it in anything as the coating is just going to be washed off. You'd be as well just adding the powder to the pot and stirring.
