Any robots do martial arts?

Thinking about signing up for BJJ/Muay Thai. Might as well learn how to handle myself.

If you can go to a social club full of strangers on your own free will and deal with the anxiety of being a noob then you're not a robot and need to get out

What if I have no social anxiety but have all other robot qualities? I never had any friends, nor gf, I'm NEET and autistic, but I'm just not scared of meeting people. Don't get me wrong, I don't enjoy being around others for the most part, but just because I'm not anxious about it, does that really disqualify me for Robothood?

I always thought a robot was someone who was numb to their emotions. I don't care about what strangers think. I'm not in high school anymore nobody is going to judge me or make fun of me. Everyone was a beginner at some point.

there are plenty of absolute autistic tards at martial arts. Its just a lot of people that like hurting other people and can't operate in team sports

I want to learn martial arts but something that can actually kill someone. Like what they teach the united states marine corps.

You don't think BJJ could actually kill someone? What do you think happens if you don't stop choking someone?

MCMAP is a mixture of Boxing BJJ and Judo

I mean specifically for killing, not self defense or for competition. I want whoever decided to fuck with me to regret it before I sever their spinal cord.

Just by this post I can tell you nobody would ever regret fucking with you

Not yet. Because I don't know a lethal martial art, but once I do, yes, they will know not to fuck with the big dog.

I did KMG Krav Maga for 2 years. My teacher was ex-British army and was pretty cool, but anyone who tells you civilian Krav Maga is about being Le lethal human weapon has no fucking idea what he is talking about. Krav Maga is just basic self defence. Useful, but not a way to become a trained great fighter.

I now do BJJ. I prefer BJJ to be honest. The constant hard sparring puts my body under pressure and my weak points get exposed quickly. An art with competitive sparring that has been proven in the ufc like BJJ, Muay Thai or boxing is the way to go.
Also, BJJ is perfect for controlling and restraining a drunk or mentally ill person without wanting to break their jaw or anything like that.

I'd do Krav but there are too many McDojos running around peddling BS. My Dad was marine force recon during the 90s and when I brought up krav maga he said just do Judo or BJJ

Then buy a gun or a knife, hand to hand combat always runs the risk of dangering yourself

how did u learn of the bloodchoke? i never wouldve thought it was possible to make somebody pass out in just a few seconds. Friend did it to me and I didnt even know I was passing out.

How long would it have to be held to be fatal?

2-4 mins

You are being a bit silly desu m8. The most lethal martial art is called gun-Jitsu.
Just join the army if this is what you want to do.
MMA fighters can be lethal despite the fact that they are technically sportsmen. If a BJJ/MMA fighter decides to carry on choking you after you have tapped then... well... you die. If an MMA fighter carried on the ground and pound with no referee to stop him then his opponent would eventually die (or just get permanent severe brain damage).

TLDR do not imagine that pro champion BJJ/MMA fighters cannot kill you with their bare hands if they wanted to just because their respective sports have rules to prevent people from dying.

I don't mind endangering myself, I just want to have the physical skill to neutralize my enemy with lethal force.

>provoke drunk chad into fighting me
>next think you know he's a fucking brain-dead vegetable thanks to me, a more dangerous predator than him

Purple belt judoka, then I memed my arm up and now I'm afraid an armlock could fuck up what took me a surgery and an year of physiotherapy to fix. I can't still fight though, I've done it no problems. Also I'm doing kendo now because hey, as much of an outdated weapon as it may be, swords are still pretty fucking cool and it helps keep me in shape. That and I believe in some mumbo jumbo about how all people must learn how to fight and do war, so I can't see myself not practicing some sort of martial art.
user, it's a place where you learn to beat people up and have Chad compliment you for it, if that ain't nice I don't know what is.

I *can still fight, I mean. Hey, at least I got dubs of post correcting action.

You sound like a little bit of a jackass but I sympathise with you. I got picked on because I was skinny and weak when I was young so I fantasised about being able to kick the shit out of people so they would respect me.
If you want to show people you are not to be fucked with then actually maiming someone or giving them brain damage will, quite rightly, put you in prison.
I would recommend going to a good MMA gym and train under someone with a genuine BJJ black belt. Often, that can be quite expensive, so if you are strapped for cash then just join a boxing gym.
Boxing looks simplistic and non lethal to people who know nothing about fighting. However, judging distance, accuracy, timing, fitness and power>>>knowing about some random pressure point on the human back.
Time and time again we see in the UFC that the martial arts that work are those where people spar hard and get better with constant competitive spar/training.
BJJ, Muay Thai, boxing, wrestling.

Right... yeah you will just go to prison m8. Self defence has to be reasonable, necessary and proportionate. You cannot do something like that to someone and not be arrested (unless someone larger and stronger than you is actually trying to rape or kill you).

>hurr durr muh ebin fighting styles

Your dance moves wont do shit to someone who spends their life bumping iron. Even some nigger on the streets can beat your fucking skulls in.

i'm 5'11 195 so it's not like i'm some skinny faggot. anyway BJJ is literally about using grappling to overcome advantages of size and strength

Nah man. Watch the early days of the UFC. Royce Gracie submitted people MUCH larger and stronger than him. Strength and height matter, but leveraging strength, positioning, timing and precision are just as important. There are tonnes of UFC and BJJ videos online of matches where big strong guys have to tap out in an arm bar, choke etc...
It is surprising that there are still people who do not know this since the UFC and MMA is so popular these days.

I've been doing BJJ for over four years now with no breaks over 3 months. Couldn't recommend it more, especially for a robot.

>No CTE b/c no striking
>Actually effective because you get your mettle tested when you try a move
>Sometimes you roll with women
>Pretend you're in Naruto and you're using your different jutsu
>High level problem solving with mild physical consequences

What belt are you atm bro?

4 stripe blue. I've had the 4th stripe for over a year. I'm getting super excited about a purple belt. I feel like I go tit-for-tat with purple belts and play around with new blue belts.

Autism alert

All martial arts can be lethal. There is no magic 5 point heart punch meme killing art though you sperg. How would you practice a martial art that kills someone so effortlessly?

>BJJ/Muay Thai
Pick one. No need to muddy your mind with extraneous shit when you're just starting a martial art.
I'd go with BJJ since I'm a wrestler.

Dojos and workout groups aren't really social clubs. I acted like a fucking sperg and never talked to people in wrestling and I was the best guy on the team my last few years. Even now when I go to the gym I do fine without being a normalfag. I'll often just wear my walmart batman pajamas.

I did bjj for about three years. It will get you in shape and change your perspective on how fights work. Having some 15 year old kid you have 40 pounds on rag doll you for five months straight will put an end to any notion of getting in a street fight.

You will realize how weak you are.
You will get fit. You will gain confidence. After long enough you will be able to easily beat people larger then you. You will be happy and you will make new friends.
Walking through that door for the first time will be nerve racking. Just do it, you will love yourself if you stick with it. It really made me happier.

>Your dance moves wont do shit to someone who spends their life bumping iron.
Part of gitting gud for any ebin fighting style is a metric fuckton of weightlifting unless you're cutting weight.
Straight weightlifters will have an advantage over lay people but they won't get far unless they learn some kind of martial arts.

> Even some nigger on the streets can beat your fucking skulls in.
Speaking from personal experience as a skinny white boi, no.

>Purple belt judoka
That means you're underaged though.

The only problem with BJJ is there can be a lack of focus on take downs. BJJ fighters takedown game can be weak compared Judo and wrestling.

This is why college wrestlers who then get into BJJ are absolute beasts and can basically fuck up almost anyone.

I've been doing traditional kung fu for 2 years, and am going to join a BJJ class this coming semester.

martial arts are awesome, meet cool friendly people, get in shape, learn a cool skill, boost confidence.

Good decision on switching to BJJ. Kung Fu styles might look cool in movies but it sucks in the UFC usually.
There is a lot of controversy in China atm since Xu Xiaodong (Chinese MMA fighter) BTFO some wing chub king fu expert.

I dunno. They're fucking annoying for me. I want to get them bellied out so I can do some real damage, but I've always got to work past that guard.
In judo they'll basically tomoe-nage me into their head before I'm able to find an easy way past.

I'm not switching, I'm gonna do BJJ in addition to kung fu.

The style my class practices is a lot of striking and upright standing stuff, and while it's great striking and etc. it doesn't have any grappling or throwing, or not much to speak of. I'm doing BJJ to augment my kung fu with grapples and throws.

They can be weak, but that's not necessarily the case. There was a summer where a bona fide wrestling coach came into the academy and taught us about wrestling take downs twice a week. Different level single legs and double legs are part of my tool kit alongside osoto gari, ankle picks, lapel drag, etc. I can even pull guard and go for a sweep or reverse a sweep. I think the assumption that BJJ practitioners don't know how to do takedowns comes from black belt worlds absolute finals where thousands of dollars in endorsements, academy advertisement, and prize money are on the line and people are too afraid to hit the double.

Fair enough.
What style of Kung fu are you doing?
How much sparring do you do?

Northern Shaolin mainly with 2 other systems integrated into it. We don't do much sparring in class because my sifu doesn't like to watch his students fight. We have sparring nights a couple nights a year but it's not against the rules to have sparring meets outside of class time. I've been meaning to get some pads and start organizing them with my classmates and friends who also do martial arts, but I need to get the pads first.

No, that means it was like 3 fucking years ago that this happened. I had just turned 16 at the time.

>We don't do much sparring in class because my sifu doesn't like to watch his students fight. We have sparring nights a couple nights a year
Yeah this is the problem with a lot of trad Chinese martial arts. The lack of hard sparring means students do not get put under pressure to get better and train their timing and precision or get an idea of what the pressures of a real fight is like.

You will find BJJ VERY different. There is a very heavy emphasis on competitive sparring. Sometimes, after teaching you the guard, guard passing and few submissions, some BJJ schools like to just throw you in the deep and get you to spar ASAP because that is ultimately how you really learn.

If you're not sparing then you are LARPing. Straight up.

That seems cool but I don't want to rub up against someone else's disgusting, sweaty body and get ringworm.

I took taekwondo for 4 years and achieved a black belt. Definitely something to brag about. Fags will believe your dick is 2 inches bigger than normal. That and you have some good fighting moves.

Taekwondo
yeah...i know...

Kek. Just wear a rash guard.

any gym that you can receive a blackbelt in 4 years is worthless. You got a blackbelt from a McDojo. Pathetic.

>tfw taekwondo yellow belt

feels good man, I wish I could keep going to the classes, fucking uni has me too busy all the time these days
