bench press is the best gauge of RAW PHYSICAL STRENGTH. you only downplay this because you're a pudgy, weak little shit of a manlet with an equally embarrassing bench press.

nobody gives a shit that you can bounce your morbidly obese gut off of your legs for your little bullshit wide stance "squat". nobody cares about your 5 inch ROM sumo "deadlift".

bench. press. is. king.

Truly BTFO.

stop replying to that obnoxious moron already. he contributes absolutely nothing. why don't you idiots seem to understand this?

>bouncing bar off your tiddies with 4 inch ROM

t. shit bench, small penis, vertically challenged

This one is much better.

Inb4 puddin

I think it's funny. I btfo'd him so hard with it that it's obviously hit a nerve and now he replies to me with it every time I post.

Well as I was tossing up the idea of running RTS Generalized Intermediate, I've been using their app, which lets me graph my perceived recovery, and allows to queue reports on training blocs, among other things.

I wouldn't know how to utilize the last one, but the rest may help me.

It says in the FAQ at the end that you use a couple of relatively heavy singles. I assume that's just whatever I decide then, as it's not specified in the book? Like just doing a couple singles at 90-95%?

You know when you've really gotten under his pasty skin when he just repeats himself over and over again.

BW: 185. Bench 260.

My bench has stalled for like three months, I've tried adding volume and I'm gaining but nothing.

I ran two linear periodisation 6 week cycles, heavy bench one day and then heavy on a variation second day (first one pin press, second one floor press), and a follow up lift with higher reps i.e. close grip, with a lot of BB accessory but zero gains.

What do? More frequency?

That's all he ever does though

He goes turbo-autism when hes really mad though, lol

*shits in your face*

Anyone got recommended podcasts to listen to for 5/3/1 for Powerlifting? I've seen a couple different channels, but I'm not sure which ones, and which videos in particular to look out for.

>5/3/1

right in the garbage

Attached: 1502122212908.jpg (1300x1300, 200K)

Wouldn't it be more fair if there would be a rule that force you to go at 90° with the elbows to make the lift valid on the bench? Something like "you have to go prallel in the squat". I know that mobility it's a talent, and I totally respect a guy that benches like pic related, but I think it concerns too much on a "luck" factor, something that you're born with, and other than that, the focus of powerlifting should be strength, not contortionist-like mobility. I mean, a guy like pic related can lift the same weight as a much more stronger athlete just because he does 1/3 of the ROM, it doesn't seem right in a sport focused on strength

Attached: hqdefault.jpg (480x360, 34K)

Two trash bags of pudding consoling eachother.

I haven't heard many interviews or podcast really breaking down the program besides a few coaches who use the framework and customize it for their clients.

Izzy from powerlifting to win has a really good breakdown of Beyond 5-3-1 that is worth listening to, and he has a good template that is well thought out.

It doesn't matter. You're not going to fix the sport at this point. So either bench in a way that you consider legitimate, and try to be people that way, or do strength lifting instead which uses the Press. You have to deal with the double layback homos, but it is slightly less ridiculous

>luck
>something youre born with

You mean like every other sport?

replace aliens with CIA niggers and you'd be completely correct

Your max strength potential is based on genetics too. Don't know what that retard is on about.

There isn't a "you have to go parallel in the squat" rule though. It specifically references two points, and one going below the other. See pic related.

Attached: Screenshot_20180915-192536.png (1440x2560, 359K)

>blue yellow
What? Never seen anything other than whites or reds?

When you get a red, the ref will hold up/signal a another color in addition to the red to signal why you failed.

Can you recommend some good deadlift+squat+bench tutorial videos. My friend is new lifter and he is also quite tall 197cm or 6 feet 6 inches.

that literally means "you have to go below parallel" though

So state the rule you want with phrasing just like the rulebook. It has to be in relation to two points.

As someone who's been lifting for 5 years

Holy shit just get a coach. Don't waste his time trying to fix shit form for years just because he taught himself incorrectly.

>the rule you want
that wasn't me, i was just telling you you're being retarded again
>It has to be in relation to two points.
hwy?

>but I think it concerns too much on a "luck" factor, something that you're born with

hahahahahahahahaha fuck man

everything in powerlifting is about what you're born with, if you think you're gonna hard work and dedication your way to winning raw nationals i have news for you

Poast ur singlets, lads

m.youtube.com/watch?v=d5G64KpqXy0&feature=youtu.be

thanks

Should i try to go bearmode?

Whatever your boyfriend wants.

I've been lifting long enough to know that dedication can't overcome genetics, what I tried to mean is that the ability to do such an arch on the bench is something that less or more you're born with and it's a very rare thing. Being powerlifting a "sport" about strength and not about extreme mobility, I find not very fitting to advantage so much such a weird and rare feature. You could say "the same could be stated about musculoskeletal levers and proportions", but for the bench you could uniform the performance by simply adding the 90° at elbows rule

>Being powerlifting a "sport" about strength and not about extreme mobility
powerlifting is a hobby about moving heavy weights while following a set of rules

How to activate my glutes properly in squats and deadlift? It feels like they aren't doing anything.

what's the minimum size for a strongman?

Push hips forward + leg tension(pull floor apart / screw legs)

If I'm doing squats + rack pull, what is a deadlift doing for me that those 2 aren't? Am I actually missing any muscles?

Oh man sounds like you're working all the muscles. Might as well skip the deadlifts and call the president and tell him to stop the presses because you figured it all out.

who's the qt in the back

Should I wait until my wilks is ~400 before competing? I know I won't impress anyone but I don't want to embarrass myself either

You make me want to take steroids so damn badly. Just for that facial hair alone.

What age did you start? 18 or 19?
Do you regret it? Did your passion for lifting come back?

Someone add this to the list
this too

Attached: 1537002859376.png (1400x900, 82K)

ok ok 450 then

I don't have it all figured out, that's why I'm asking.

18. Don't really regret I. I regret maybe taking certain steroids at certain doses in certain ways. I dont like being a case of >roiding for this, Im past that now but for how long I took roids in what quantities its still a >roiding for this case. I took more than I needed, took orals really wrecklessly and Im concernee about how that effected my health, but I seem fine and its already been done. Ill just be changing my habits is all, and already have.

My passion came back since I actually make decent progress and I feel good lifting, yeah. But I spend a lot of time in the gym, a lot of time thinming about lifting and things. I have other things I should be spending my time on and doing with my life. But at the same time, if I wasnt lifting, Id probably be doing notging at all but taking drugs and being miserable probably.

>roiding to squat 4pl8x7

Its such a shame they're not so readily available to come by, I'm 5 years into this life long grind and I'm as burnt out as they get, lifting only out of habit, and no passion.

Its plagued my mind for years what it'd be like, I'm 19 now, perhaps I'll hold off until 8 years experience lifting naturally, and chalk up the first few years to learning.

I get what you say about having a direction less life without them, with lifting no longer being my main source of drive and passion I've subsequently turned to other hobbies and even had to really knuckle down and start thinking about working on a career and job prospects, but deep down inside I can't bring myself to uphold such a boring life, living only to work.

Only thing probably keeping me back actually would be my other hobbies, often or not you benefit from being lightweight and lean in most other things in life.

Anyway God bless, good luck, I'm super happy to talk to you for the first time in the better half of a year.

>eating to look like a garbage bag full of pudding

Who are you

Fuck me thought it was 140x7, now I'm really impressed.

Isley had been stuck with an evermediate 5pl8 squat for years, and here blue shoes is going to over take it with a quarter of the training age.

Honestly mad respect to him just cause blu obviously didn't win the genetic lottery, and all he did was level the playing field.

he looks like a garbage bag full of pudding

but you really need to cut that nasty ass fucking hair what the fuck are you thinking

>he's trying to get (You)'s from me again

Attached: double vision.png (327x316, 211K)

He looks like my IRL friend called Billy I like his hair

Just compete. You aren't competing against anyone except yourself, people won't give you shit. You will gain experience.

This literally ain't the point of PL, its strong dudes competing against each other

-5kg from your bench

There's no reason to wait until to compete. Compete to decide if you like it, and so you can get used to the flow of the meet, know the commands, know what to expect, and know how to deal with issues.

I can bench negative weight that's not possible

Reminder that you're not a powerlifter if you don't compete, you're just doing squats, bench and deadlifts in the gym.

Attached: pj-35.png (697x496, 603K)

Yep. What powerlifters do 99% year round out of season.

Don't get me wrong, I definitely think you made a good point, but like all amateurs competing in the big leagues, they're missing out the fundamentals of competitive sports

I think powerlifting is much more competitive than a lot of sports, down to the reason its like strongman, its a show and dance of who has the best genes and best training resources.

Its like a beauty pageant or talent show in a way, the idea behind it is only for the best to compete against each other

which is why it would be unfair to compare it to a lot of other sports that encourage amateurs, such as football, which is an inclusive team sport which bring in amateurs all the time

>6'0", 170lbs
>Have been stalled on 205 bench for two weeks now
Is it literally just that I need to eat more? I'm gaining about a pound a week, I don't get why the fuck my pussy ass isn't getting stronger.

Attached: 1534320869891.jpg (494x613, 23K)

this is how i currently have my 4day TM set up

would it make sense to move farmers walks to my upper day? afraid that they're affecting my power on upper by doing them the day before. any other feedback is welcome

Attached: routine.png (603x124, 14K)

this embarrassing obsession, obvious projection and blatant lying says more about you than anyone else ITT you faggot. post your body and lifts or fuck off.

Attached: 1521783272453.jpg (473x493, 148K)

>meet rando PL.dude
>Will say "only totals matter" when he has a 1500 total @ 275+ SHW
>Says he has JR records
>Tell him the reason he has JR records is because nobody under 20 years old is above 275lbs
>Visibly upset

I saw a 100kg girl in the lowest teen class once, so 15 at the oldest. I honestly don't think there would be any competition for her because who tf weighs 100kg as a 13-15 yo girl.
>pic related is prob her dad

Attached: bloat king.png (177x166, 58K)

>6'0", 170lbs
kek twink

I know, I'm trying man. Been lifting about 10 months now, mostly doing meme exercises at first. Now that I've realized girls are boring and heavy as fuck weights are fun, I just wanna be an absolute unit. Its tough though since it seems my lower body is the only part that wants to get bigger.

Attached: 1535329707210.jpg (333x371, 18K)

>Is it literally just that I need to eat more?
no

gaining 1lb/week is plenty for calories not to be your limiting factor, just be patient and do more volume (this means stop doing SS if you have not already done so)

What should I get from the MacDonald's breakfast menu?

help please lads, all i want is a consistent method to get to three plates

Oi what should I get from MacDonald's

bagel or mcmuffin

volume reigns supreme for bench press. when in doubt, more volume.

see above.

>but i'm already doing a bunch of volume..

clearly you're not. do more. also, where is your sticking point on bench press?

6 dollars minimum of as many 1 dollar breakfast sandwiches you can get.

>i have absolutely no argument, sir

i accept your admission of defeat. your fragile ego is obvious and genuinely, sincerely pathetic. you will get no more (you)s from your superior. you've accomplished nothing beyond embarrassing yourself you cringe inducing retard. move on. accept it. cope

See? I can copy pasta shit too you pudgy faggot benchlet with a pudding body and ED.

Attached: 1537009822313.png (595x635, 406K)

tl;dr. post body and lifts or fuck off, retard.

@47662904
Not an argument

Tried to take a 100mph selfie and got btfo by the wind

I hope everyone else is up at 6am to go gym this Sunday morning

Attached: IMG_20180916_065856.jpg (1944x2592, 701K)

kekd harder at this than I arguably should have

Went to the dentist for tooth ache and he gave me some extra fluoride tooth paste

Tooth still hurts like fuck a month or so down the line but damn my teeth look a lot cleaner. Would recommend.

Why are weight lifting bars so much more common than power bars?
I get that weight lifting is a more popular sport than powerlifting, but powerlifting exercises are waaaay more common

How about you stop giving a fuck about such minuscule and mundane shit like different bars. Just use the one that feels the most comfortable. You're not gonna pass that 300 wilks all of sudden because you use a different bar.

But I like bars with center knurling

>weightlifting bars dont have center knurling
what????????????

Attached: file.png (800x566, 270K)

Not him, but gyms where I train often get weightlifting/crossfit bars that don't have it. I kinda hated it too at first, but got used to it (thankfully I train at better gym now) it's more of a mental thing.

what is wrong with yuo that's so dangerous

Strongman has weight classes too.
youtube.com/channel/UCqZw7esUTcMIlDyd_dhkAkw/videos
This guy won his class in nationals last year at 5'10" and around 200lbs.

STEROIDS DONT MAKE YOU STRONGER
GARGEBRO SINCE EVER

Its just the straights man, I've hit 150mph (a fair bit for a naked bike) on the way to the gym before, but I wouldn't ever do that kinda speed on the twisities or with cars around.

That's why early morning gym is the best, nobody's around.

Attached: 1537080780935.jpg (1944x2592, 565K)

Why is improving my bench so easy but improving squat so difficult?

Wanna swap?
I train my squat once a week with lowish volume and it still goes up.
I do 10 sets bench & 5 sets tricep isolaton & 5 sets chest isolation 3 times a week and it goes nowhere.
