Morning Gym

Any others go to the gym in the morning? Started a few weeks ago, go 5 days a week at 7am. Hard to start doing it, but its worth it imo

If so, how long after you eat do you wait?

No food until Lunch. Never been a big breakfast guy. Is that a huge mistake?

20, virgin here, I'll start this monday.

I do BJJ twice a week at 6 am. I have breakfast after.

Its the best your brain will be pumped for the day

easy good breakfast is 2 packs of oats, whey scoop, fruit smoothie blend, (optional almond butter 2 tbsp)

I love working out in the morning, its less crowded in the gym and I feel great the whole day trough

Yeah, I regulary train early in the morning. Shame that gym opens at 9 am, otherwise I would train at 7:30 or 8, since that is the time when I do my home workouts. Doing it early in the day makes me full of energy for other stuff later in the day.

Do you not have a 24/7 gym near you?

I'd like to but going in the evening just seems better. More time to work out (lectures in the morning), higher energy levels, can get more sleep (->more rest -> more gains).

Im at the gym by 6am four workdays a week. I make a protein shake the night before and keep it in the fridge then drink that as I walk 10 minutes to the gym.

My gym is far too busy in the evenings to get a decent workout done, plus it feels good to have proper woken up before work.

Balkan bro (Herzegovina). Most gyms open at 8-9 am. There are no 24/7 gyms in my country (Croatia has them), but I wouldn't trade my current gym for anything short of powerlifting gym as it has safety squat bar, tons of weights and bars, dbs up to 50 kg and other good stuff (+ the owner is a total powerlifting bro).

Office job - I don’t think I’d be able to do a physically demanding job with that routine. I LARP as a NEET on the weekends to recover.

i find myself way weaker and can reach my limits much easier. is it killing my gainz?

I find myself the strongest at 15pm-17pm, also that's the hour at my gym that it's mostly empty afaik, then it starts getting more people until it decreates at around 20-20:30pm which is one hour before closure.

I'm lucky that I always need to shit about 45 minutes after I start work. Just after I've sorted my emails and caught up with my team in the other office.

I go in the morning on weekends. But for weekdays, since I'm not a NEET, around 7pm is the ideal time as all the bookers have fucked off and I live in a white trash town so no gym zoomers.

I read somewhere you don't have your full strength until after 2 hours from waking. So going to the gym right away is limiting your gainz.

Not the same user, but it's a completely different culture. USA has 24/7 gyms because of demand. If nobody visits the gym at night, he'll just have to pay to the staff for no reason at all.

You don't have to keep it staffed around the clock. My closest 24/7 gym is only staffed 3 hours a day.

m8, the staff doesn't need to be there all the time. In my gym there's people at the desk maybe 6 hours per week. The cleaner comes around every morning.

I don't think it would work where I live (small cities mostly). For it to have a chance to work, it would need to be opened at cities of size like Sarajevo or Mostar and even then, those two are already saturated with gyms + gym goers for the most part have no concept/habit of training late at night/very early in the morning, but again it could work since there's a lot of muslims who would likely train during Ramadan.

Maybe I'll open it one day when I'm millionare (unlikely + I am gonna build myself a good home gym).

Exactly. I never understood why gyms insist on having receptionists and PTs roaming about. Just have a chip-activated doorway, and a cleaner come in once a day. The gym can be open 24/7. Unless one of the patrons is the infamous poop bandit, there's not reason for it not to work.

I’d only be concerned about it if you’re super cut/skinny. You should take something to replenish lost electrolytes, because dehydration is a thing.

I do several hours of cardio/weight training everyday while fasted. It feels weird at first, but your body will adapt. It’s hard to think we would have survived this long as a species if our bodies were so fragile that doing work on a light fast would make us collapse
