I live in the central part of Nevada. There is literally nothing here. It's over 100 miles to the nearest town. And the entire drive is just a desert road with some mountains in the distance. Before driving anywhere you have to make sure you are stocked up with water and food in your car because if your car breaks down it can be days before anyone find you.

The outskirts of Reno are very nice, i don't know about Vegas but you might be much more at risk of crime and drug enforcement there -- don't know though, never lived there. I just know it's a much bigger, higher-crime, higher-immigrant city.

The outskirts of Reno-Sparks, for the most part, are non-aggressive huwhite hippity-hoppity people who are probably doing the same thing as you - also, Reno outskirts (and I'm talking literal edge of town, fifty feet from open desert/forest) can be as close as 15min to city center.

I loved the outskirts of Reno because I'm an avid dirtbiker/four-wheeler, not for drug reasons, but it can be a super comfy city for that as well provided you aren't a fucking retard about it.

I'm a robot living in Nevada. It's okay but traveling from city to city is stressful. There's not a lot out here but it isn't a bad financial decision to move here.

It's less expensive in the northern part. I live in Reno and it was generally cheap, although prices in houses have spiked up to around an all time high.

i don't live there, but i live nearby and visit Las Vegas a few times a year. it's the greatest place on earth.

I live in a town called Gardnerville and its pretty comfy. In the last year or so, i heard that housing costs have skyrocketed and its hard to find affordable living arrangements. Depending on which part of NV you live in though. Theres plots of bare land with utility hookups selling for about $1000 an acre in some places. You can pull up in an rv or move out a trailer and hook right up to water and electricity.
Reno is full of nig nogs from CA who try to skirt their legal problems by moving there. Las vegas is about 8 hours away but its no better, unless you got cash to burn.
Gardnerville is allright i guess. Pretty quiet and mostly low crime. Not a lot to do except off roading and riding quads or horses. About 20 minutes from Lake Tahoe, a gorgeous lake.
Overall not bad. Nig nog population is low but lots of beaners and white folks.
