Don't play sports but improving my strength allows my body to do things easier, and better. If I can run faster, jump higher, and move for longer periods of time thanks to leg strength why not continue improving it? Working your upper body, and dieting/maintaining/bulking doesn't improve your overall fitness much. You have to actually move. If you want to move more efficiently work your legs.

Just get on a full body routine, dude. All your problems will be solved. You get to hit upper body 3 times a week, which is nice, your strength will skyrocket, and you can even do something really minimal like:

A
Squat
Leg Curl

B
Deadlift
Leg Press (optional)

Or if you're tall and not a powerlifter, just replace conventional deadlifts with RDLs.

Finally, when I joined a strongman gym (and ditched powerlifting) I was renewed with a love for squats because I got to experiment with all new types of 'em, like zercher squats (with a zig zag bar

Zercher squats are super fun. Especially when doing long holds and stupid amounts of shrugs.
But heavy zercher deadlifts make me go full Mr.Piano and I like it.
