However you need 15-20 minutes to warm up for cardio at roughly 150-160 bpm and then can raise your heartrate to 170-180 bpm to do proper cardio.

how does biking compare to running? ran for 20 minutes straight yesterday and feel pretty good about it, but biking and seeing nature and stuff seems comfier than lapping a track a bunch of times

Low impact so if you're worried about your joints then that's something to consider. Otherwise it's just as good if you're able to get your heart rate up. If you enjoy it then go for it as it's not gonna feel as much of a chore

A fit man should be able to run a mile in 6 minutes or less, but no further, and have their heart rate return below 100 BPM in less than 10 minutes.

Lifting for me is a shorter activity where I'm tracking several factors.

Running for me is a longer activity just routine.

I prefer cycling, the background changes more often, the wind feels better and taking corners feels like it takes more skill.
