ITT: Talk about what went terrible at the gym today
>failed on doing lmao1pl8 bench 3x5
hold me brehs
>3x5
That's why you can't even hit lmao1pl8
What's should I do instead?
>Dyels hogging all the power racks and benches doing half plate or less
>Say fuck it and put 180 on the chest press machine and hit it with an extra set
Uni gyms in sept are as bad as new years
8x2
cycle through 4x10, 5x7, 6x4, 10x2
10x5 with lower weight
I was looking for someone who might be able to hook me up on my first cycle. But it was to crowded and the regulars i know werent there
Very true, haven't checked mine to see if it's died down yet, luckily I still have a family membership to another nearby gym
>not doing 6x6, 7x5, 8x4, 10x3
Like you dont want strength and size
Lol op is dyel
Is this supposed to be impressive?
No, just anonymous so u cant hurt my feelings
I wanted to get 140 on OHP this morning but could only get 135
>DL form is terrible
>Back rounds out every time
>Know that one of these days I'm gonna catch a one way train to snap city
failed the last rep of the last set
AGAIN
My right shoulder came out of socket on bench 2 days ago, pretty sure I shredded my rotator cuff
No idea what to do or if I can ever lift normally qgain
Morbidly obese woman, sitting on my favorite tricep push down machine while on her phone. Occasionally doing the odd set on the lowest weight.
GET OFF YOUR PHONE AND GET YOUR FAT ASS OVER TO THE TREADMILL.
ahahahahhha everyone in this thread is pathetic as fuck
fucking losers
especially you op fucking dyel ahahahaha
>tfw my shins are always bruised after diddlylift
Gotta work on my form.
Dont worry boy. I failed my 4x6 1.5 pl8 bench press today and had to do the role of shame.
Some fat black guy hogged the only bench setup in the gym for like 2 hours so i had to do it at the end of my workout.
Shit like this happens
Fuck, hit me right in the feels.
All my gains for that workout, gone.
What could have been?
Got shin splints recently.
Skipped the gym last week, don't know if I should go today. Might be dangerous when doing deadlifts.
>tfw this shit takes 7-9 weeks to recover
I don't belong in this thread, but I finally hit 2pl8 for 2x5 and was feeling it so I got 230 1x5 right after last night, highest my bench has ever been in my entire life. Shooting for 250 3x5 by the end of the year
You know exactly what you should've done
Holy shit that might have been me, sorry mate.
>haven't worked out consistently in like 8 months
>Gained 60lbs
Not gonna make it bros.
>7 reps
Never gonna make it
why do you keep doing it when you know your form is bad? i had the same problem so i looked for solutions. i now put the bar a little higher above the ground than usual and i looked for some stretching exercises specificall for my rounding back. it got a lot better
9x11 it's the bomb
It's my rest day so I was just gonna do some cardio, went on the bike for 10 minutes, doms from leg day were too strong and just left.
huh
Not today but 17 days ago.
>failed on bench and had to do the roll of shame
>somehow hurt my right wrist
>took the following week off lifting
>did some adapted workout last week, took off friday, saturday and yesterday off as well
>it still not 100% healed and I can't bench or row, can only produce force on neutral grip
Hold me brehs. I might take this week off as well. I can already feel my gains kissing me goodbye.
>accidentally load lmao 130lbs on dumbbell for bench
>Found my 3RM and almost smashed my face in on the 4th
>Gym braphog saw
Why live
Some worn out nasty thot talking to some wannabe weakass power lifter while he was benching muh 225 and muh 275, while she hogged the other bench with her roasted ass crotch and 25# plates.
>you guys done?
>almost finished my sets
Female feels the need to chime in
>I'm done!
>"ok, make sure you wipe the bench off, I don't know where you've been"
>both look at me like the thot and weakling they are
>warm up, do my sets of 315x8, 365x5
>"oh wow bro, I didn't know you were that strong"
Stay away from all thots and just fucking lift boys, hitting 405 on bench, 600 on squat and 655 on deadlift. Took 10 years of work, but managed to do it natty and while still having some modicum of aesthetics to my physique
Failed 2nd set of OHP because I fucking hate it and give up everytime which means I make no progress. I'm only at 75lbs but I fucking hate it, everything else is fine to progress, feels fine, but fuck I cant fucking ohp
OHP is a bitch. I used low weight/high volume/high frequency to get mine up. Also switched up hand placement a few times to find ideal spot for my build.
Its your equipment too. No apology needed
Were you using 130 pound dumbbells for each hand or 130 total?
Show that braphog who's boss and give that thot a shot of natural test that'll really make her brap lifts sore
5x3
I had my hand positioning really good (personally, anyway, felt way different) for a grand total of one time and haven't been able to recreate it any other workouts. I gave up ohp for like 2 months and want to at least get progress to 100lbs but christ man. I'd try low weight/high volume but at 75lbs how much lower can I even go. I might switch back to dumbbells and actually stick with it this time until the dumbbells are at a respectable weight but I worry that I'll just end up doing more incline-bench muscle activation than OHP if I use dumbbell and make no actual ohp progress
I did 3x5 all the way to 2pl8 with just one plateau
>doing 16/8 IMF schedule
>wake up
>morning wood
>jerk off and cum
>hate smell of cum so I don’t want to rub it in like lotion throw away tissues into trash
>swallow it
Fuck, I had another 6 hours to go before i was allowed to break my fast
Never gone make it bros
*in 6 years
**on my deadlift
This worked for me, and I'm at 305 on OHP:
Warm up, extremely light weight for 3 sets of 8-10 reps. Then put on 85-90% of your 1RM and get max reps. Then put on a weight that you can comfortably do 10-12 reps with and just do set after set of 8-10 reps.
Ditch the ego, and if you have to just do sets with the bar for a month or two, so be it.
Ive been there. Incline dumbbell press with 70s about two years ago. Rotated my right arm a full 180 and tore my labrum to hell and back. Got the surgery about a week or two after and I was in a sling for about a month. I’ve gotten back to lifting normally and I’m lifting heavier than I ever have but I can feel it every day and the specter of that injury haunts me to this very moment
>tfw also interested in this because in a similar situation with 80kg bench press
>tfw everyone is posting le ebin meme replies instead of just answering the damn question
Based. Post body senpai
In 5 months on my bench.
On a minimal bulk too.
3x5 really is a magical rep scheme for strength.
What video game is this
You should eat correctly and do your goddamn 3 sets of 5 after your squat sets on day B.
How hard is this to get?
Total :'(
Do more volume.
You break through plateaus by working harder, not working less.
It sucks for the first few weeks, but then your body adapts and it's no harder than 5x5.
Remember the braphog and the rage when you're pushing 365# no problem.
I second that. Whenever I hit a plateau I usually warm up with 3 sets of extremely light weight, then do 85-90% of my 1RM for as many reps as I can. Then I go to a weight I can comfortably lift for 10-12 reps and do as many sets of 8-10 that I can bang out
Haven't benched in 6 years.
session 1: 70kgx7 session:
session 2: 80kgx5x5
session 3: 85kgx3x5
session 4: 90kgx3x???
Banking on getting to 100kgx3 through sheer willpower, being heavily detrained and a slight caloric surpluss.
It just has to happen. Go in with that mindset. Fix your technique. GET HYPED AS FUCK.
Bench in the fucking squat rack if you're concerned and have no spotter (I hate asking random people, not because I am autistic but because they fuck up my rhythm and setup thus technique is terrible).
If you want to get good at a lift, do it at least x2 times a week. Shit, do it x3. Let it be the first exercise you do, take 10 minute pauses in between sets if you have to. YOU ARE GOING TO DO THOSE REPS NO MATTER WHAT.
Why don’t you just ask to work in? I regularly hog the bench for 1.5 hours because it’s the key element of my workout and around 70% of its work. Sometimes people complain indirectly, but I really couldn’t care less because literally anyone of them could work in any time; it’s just the matter of moving a plate off (or maybe even not) every few minutes, which is 0 effort when you do it together.
enlighten me pls
what do i do if i can't afford surgery
If you're actually working out, that's cool. I never mind working in. If you're talking to thots and pretending to be yolked, go fuck yourself.
Is anything it will be some banters with one of the many regulars that I know.
Sure as hell I could take shorter pauses and be done faster, but fuck that because I really don’t want to. Feels great lifting with a muscle that is back to full strength because it had a solid 5-7 min rest and not one that is still gassed out after 2 minutes.
Literally anyone can come and ask to work in any time, works great with my long pauses and even help them adjusting to their working weights and spot them if they wish.
I wrote an earlier post about some used up thot and wannabe power lifter having shitty banter and skanking up the bench. Other than that, I agree. It's smart to lift and take the sets/reps at your own pace. I never have issue with working in with fellow lifters
Leisure Suit Larry, Country Concer Las Begas edition
You mean you never swallow it usually? Such a waste of free protein bro. Your body gives and you should receive back.
Front, taken two weeks ago
is this the natty limit?
Back spread, taken just now in my creepy bathroom
And thanks bro
I understand the anger in your post now
figure is from Nishima et al. massive metastudy 2016 in BMJ.
I would think it's near the natty limit desu. I could probably cut like 20 pounds and then work back up to my current maxes. I also focus a lot on running occasionally (military)
did you retract scapula?
6x8 brehs
how far are your arms out? are you getting a lil drive from your hips?
Lower the weight increase volume
For example:
No progress at 80Kg @ 5x5
Bench 70Kg x 4 sets AMRAP increase weight when you hit 10 reps in your first set.
Do this for a couple of weeks and you will be probably able to bench 80kg x 10 at the end of it. Then you can go back to 5x5 again.
I'm always a lot angrier too when I start cutting some weight. That pic was after 6 weeks of bulking. Just started cutting this weekend
Did 125lb squat 5x5 on Friday, decided I'd try to do 130lb 5x5 this morning. Failed last two sets. Could only do 4 reps on my 4th set and 3 reps on my 5th set.
How long you been lifting? 5x5 isn't very effective if you're still relatively new fwiw
Gym went fine last night but:
>live in flat with coin operated laundry machines
>try to avoid using them
>out of underwear on saturday
>wear a pair of pants without any underwear all day while I play vidya and do laundry
>monday comes
>i throw on the pants from saturday
>go to work
>dont notice any smells
>people around me start talking about how bad it stinks in the area
>they think its an unflushed toilet
>they flush the toilet but it still stinks
>sweat beading down my forehead as I realize I didnt wash these pants
>go to the bathroom and take off pants
>absolutely disgusting smell coming from the ass crack
>take hand soap and paper towels and try to give them a handwash
>take off underwear and they smell too so handwash them as well
>go back to work area and people are still talking about the smell
>my ass is wet and Im having an anxiety attack
>mexican facilities guy is looking for a sewage leak
Please fucking kill me Im not off for 2 more hours and my pants still stink. Should I fake sick so I can leave? I thought my life was getting better and now this happens what the fuck
You should fake sick and leave early so you can learn to fucking wipe and learn to not shit your pants
if you fake sick and leave early the smell will go away when you leave so they will now it was you
Failed my squats so I lowered the weight and did more volume instead.
Should've done those facepulls.
For about a month now. Started at around 70lbs for squat.
531 program got me disliking working out. I'd like to change to something else but I've only been doing it for 7 weeks and will feel like a failure.
this
your only option is to wait until everyone leaves for the day or exit with the largest group of people you can possibly exit with
>wearing pants, that you actually wear in public, when you're out of underwear
rookie move, bro
how old are you?
I throw on my tactical pants/pajamas when I'm being as disgusting as you
like tomorrow
hexbar
Yea, good effort but 5x5 doesn't serve your best interests.
Do high volume/high frequency. You should be doing each compound lift twice a week. On one of those days, warm up and do a set of something heavy (75% of your 1RM), then do your usual set/rep scheme
kek
> Gym has shitty bars, so whenever I deadlift I have to grab on the smooth part of the bar.
> lmao2.5plate DL.
> Slips right out of my hand as I'm putting it down on the last set.
Shitty thing is, I'm terrified of tearing my tendons, so I don't use a mixed grip.
Are you more likely to tear tendons with mixed grip?
If your form is shit, Yeah. You can definitely tear your biceps tendon at the elbow with if your form breaks and your instinct of holding things with your arm kicks in.
I always strive to do all my lifts with perfect form, but still I want to minimize the risks.
learn hookgrip friendo
you can tear your bicep
Because im not gonna sit there and put weights on and off with some dude i dont know
Besides chances are hes not going to know what your autistic weightlifting lingo means and misunderstand it as
>i want to use this bench now
Which he will reply by saying "huuur duuur i have six more sets of baby weight" and then lifting even slower because he knows im waiting
Reminds me of that horrible tragedy
...
I am about to start lifting but would like strength and hypertrophy so I'm thinking about hitting all the ranges with a 4x15,11,7,3 PPL or 5X5 type program, weight as heavy on each set as I can go without failing the set. We'll see where it takes me.
I figure this will probably leave me a little more on the aesthetic than strength side of shit, but as long as I'm getting stronger and look good and don't hurt myself idgaf
