I FELL FOR THE FUCKING LEG PRESS MEME
>Do leg press for half a year as only quad exercise
>Can do 700 pounds x 15 reps
>Tried squats today for the first time
>can only do 5 @ 220 pounds
>my back hurts
all this time wasted...

what leg press meme? who ever suggests leg press anywhere?
>using machines
>ever
wew, lad.
Some faggot Youtuber and my gym coach because "squats are dangerous".
>leg press has inclination
>effectively pushing probably ~300 lbs tops because planet fitness press
>be OP, fat as fatass, 280 lbs bw
>puts 220 lbs on his back, effectively trying to squat nearly 500 lbs with bodyweight included
>wonders why his shit is snapped
It's not about quantity, it's about the quality of the exercise user...
Not only did you not make any gains, you're also that boomer faggot that takes all the 45s that everyone hates
>All those leg press snap compilations
> squats dangerous
Is it your first time on fit?
No i come here for the twinks and thicc girls threads.
Please continue posting
For you
Read Starting strength. That should clear up any misunderstandings
Which could have been avoided by following one simple rule: don't fucking lock your knees
Form form form form form form form
Don't slap as much weight as you can on the bar trying out compound lifts. Build up your stabilizer muscles with lower weights, perfect your form, you'll be squatting heavy weight soon.
You are correct about the inclination. If it's 45 degrees, then you are pushing .707 of the weight loaded. But remember, the sled is pretty heavy too; maybe 100 lbs.
>She will never sit on my face
i experienced the opposite, highly reccomend getting a decent belt as i feel that helped
did leg press like you while not squatting until i could move like 250kg for 10 deep reps
went back to squatting with a good tight belt and found myself squatting 130kg for 5 reps
>Can do 700 pounds x 15 reps
no you can't, I squat twice what you do and I can't do that or anything even close to it
if you had performed the exercise correctly instead of doing 1/100th rom you may have gotten something out of it
There's different kinds of leg press machines that have different loads
The 3 at my gym are all different angles and lmao4pl8 on one of them is the same difficulty as lmao8pl8 on another
That sounds fine to me. 220lbs for 5 shitty reps having done nothing but leg press is pretty good
Leg press is fine for extra volume without extra fatigue from squats, but it's not really gonna add much to your squat at all. It's more for hypertrophy
>he doesn’t do skateboard squats
squats are a compound exercise. you did an accessory exercise for half a year and expected it to translate performance wise to an exercise that utilizes so much more than just your quads? get on the squat train. squat every session. back squats, front squats, zerchers, goblet squats, pause squats (one of my favorites). do em all.
>user wants to stop falling for memes
>suggest Starting Strength to him
DEVILISH
Seriously. Why don't we at least put up like Greg Nuckols stuff or the Juggernaut stuff?
i've never encountered one that easy before, the 45 degree plate loaded ones are probably the best and 4 plates on each side with those is legitimately challenging for high reps
>but it's not really gonna add much to your squat at all
not if you aren't also squatting sure, but getting bigger stronger quads can definitely move your squat up
wait, squats ARE dangerous?
no there's absolutely nothing that can go wrong with 405lbs on your back, it's literally not possible to get injured
You didn't develop the core strength, glutes, balance, and lat strength require for squats
Why is this even remotely surprising
ITT: vain faggot learns the difference between developing your legs and developing your posterior chain
Just don’t be weak lmoa
More for form than a routine
Why people do leg press instead of front squat is beyond me
