Their comments aside, if I dont think about it, I'm not conscious of my appearance. However, my father was a national body builder, and made placements a few times. I assume I have the genes to build muscle, but I've never really put a lot of effort in to researching diets that'll encourage muscle growth, and workout/weights routines. I'm foreign to how sets and reps work, and what workouts target specific muscle groups for results.
I just need that little push to get the ball rolling downhill. I've wanted to have a body I could brag about, and have my gf swoon extra over. I want to feel comfortable in being attractive if I possibly cosplay with gf in future (weeb at heart anons, but too self aware to let the cringe escape the cage).
Tell me your stories. If you were an ectomorph, how did you bulk? What did you eat to help supplement? Should I start downing protein drinks if that's the ingredient I'm lacking (tried it before, only saw definition, no bulk). What workouts did you do to bulk chest/shoulders/arms/quads? What was your workout schedule? Can I weight train at home, or is there more benefit to gym equipment?

Just strict caloric increase, or specific foods? Red meats? Pastas for bulk? High protein meals, or just mass calories? Any foods to specifically avoid (obv fast food, I already dont eat mcdonalds.)
I usually have basic meals with gf, like beef stroganoff with side of mashed and canned corn. Turkey sandwiches, spaghetti. Family likes to make lots of pork foods like ribs, and often breaded chicken breast in light vinegar sauce with noodles.
On the topic of a gym. I'm walking in blind. What equipment am I aiming for? Just bars and bells, or are there specific machines I should gravitate around?

Again, no suggestions on equipment or routines. I'm beginning to think all the posters know is that I "need more calories", but cant suggest anything past that from their keyboards.
I eat like i got out if prison, and food outside takes like gold. I do eat breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
Cereal and fruit (usually bananas cuz they're easy for out the door eating). Sometimes I substitute with granola bars or a breakfast sausage.
Lunch is probably my worst meal based on nutrition. Local pizza slice (usually 1/3 size of a pie), or a deli sandwich, but footlong size, usually with roast beef or chicken. I like baked chips, so less fat in those, probably need more fats.
Dinners are always different depending on if the family/gf made something. Otherwise, I usually cook up 2 serving size of angel hair noodles for spaghetti, with chunky beef marinara sauce.
Trust me anons, I'll take in about 2500-3000 calories a day, but I'll start actually tracking it from now on for good measure.

You can find a decent routine online depending on your needs and how avaible you are you should read the sticky and probably do some sort of 5x5 program and aim for linear progression and keep at it for 3-6 months.

A bowl of Ice cream, or a small cup of soft serve from anywhere gets me flaired, so I avoid ice cream regularly. Maybe once every 2 months. That's how bad I get intolerance symptoms.

Looking back, I failed to mention I've gotten mundane workout equipment. Dumbells to curl, and a door bar to do basic pull ups, chin ups. I can place it on the floor for push ups. Again, mundane, nothing to write about, which is why I glossed over it. I use them often at home when sitting around.
They likely dont offer much on top of the weight I lift and move around at work. I haven't just been mulling at a computer being a neet doing nothing.
I've bought supplements, previously drank protein (I think I stopped because of lactose from milk i was adding), and I do basic mind numbing workouts at home.
So yes, no heavy weights at a gym. That's in my to do list now. I'm figuring out how to logistically add it in, and weigh the costs of a membership for the gyms in my local area.

Find a simple routine online that you can fit into your schedule easily and constantly progress with. Focus mainly on heavy compound movements and stick to that for a few months. Make sure to count your calories while you do this. If you're not gaining weight keep upping the calories until you do. Since you're doing a lot of manual labor already, you'll probably need to eat quite a bit. If you're really eating ~3000 calories and staying as slim as you are, try starting with 3500 a day.
This is about all the spoonfeeding I can do for you. Just work hard with what you have and eat a lot.

Feel perfectly healthy. Never lethargic, immune system has been solid for years. Worst I've had was a 1 day cold a couple months back. You might be right that I'm exceptionally low, but I'm never winded, and I only sweat (while working labor) if temps are above mid 80s and humidity index is above 50%. I only mention this to show I'm "healthy", besides my weight.

Linear progression is the key for the first few months constantly increasing your lifts. Like that user said stick to compounds, full body workouts, with maybe a couple of accesory lifts for variety. SS, SL5x5, and greyskull, pic related, are good choices. And yes you can get gainers to help you bulk, but getting your caloried from food is best.
Chose not to trim it in the past 2 weeks. Grows fast. I usually keep the sides shaped in so it doesn't look too ragged.

They can help if you're a bit behind on calories some days, but always try to get as many of your calories as you can from healthy whole foods. It will help you in the long run. Try downloading Cronometer. It'll help a lot with counting calories and making sure you're eating properly.
