L-Citruline converts into L-Arginine but it stays in your system longer. Direct L-Arginine will be more potent but shorter lasting. I take a complex that contains both.

It does work if you take it with a meal but its more effective if you take it at night and its more effective if you take it on an empty stomach.

I haven't supplemented zinc but I have tried magnesium by itself and found it had some of the same effects as ZMA but at lower strength. Makes sense because mag is an electrolyte and smooth muscle relaxer. So if you have a hard time pooping and conversely too easy a time pooping then it could help.

I've been taking ZMA for a couple of weeks and I haven't noticed much of an effect, apart from maybe better sleep in the first week and sometimes more realistic dreams. I still get occasional night sweats, and my loads appear to be smaller and less healthy, but this could just be because of nutting regularly.
