I have an embarrassing squat. It’s so weak I can’t post the weight. Will shoes like this help me improve?

Shoes aren't a magic fix. Dealing with what's causing your squat to be weak is.
Those shoes provide godly stability. I started with them and got to 3pl8 in about 4 months.
Doubt it. But how weak is your Squat user? are you seriously embarrassed on an anonymous madagascarian olive cultivating board?
How much should I be squatting at three weeks into lifting, and at about 145 pounds?
Why don’t you just get heels you faggot.
Everyone starts out at a different weight. My very first 3x5 squats were 90lbs max. Then I kept adding 5-10lbs every next Squat day for a couple months
Not really. What helps you improve is fixing your form, doing a lot of squats, and trying harder.
>t. 455 squat
More than you did last week.
The shoes only help to squat deep if you have shitty mobility, it wont make you stronger.
I have a tendency to roll forward out of the bottom. My proportions are fucked up
50 kg, or 100 pounds
The fuck? How did you know?
How much will they help if you have good mobility?
I have the same problem and I am you but from another dimension
Squat is the easiest lift to improve when you first start out. You just have shitty neuromescular connections because you're an inactive fuck, your legs are much stronger than you think. Just keep squatting and they will explode.
Sounds like you might be transferring the weight to the quads because your glutes are weak. Lower the weight and focus on form
keep your back tighter and go slower when decending to the hole. You might wanna try out low bar squats.
When did most of you get squat shoes? Like at what weight/experience level?
After squatting 225 comfortably. I used to put small plates on the ground to raise my heels to hit depth, but I found a sweet deal for oly-shoes and bought them.
Quite often when I squat I have bad knee pain in my left knee when I get at parallel. Some days I can hardly squat 3pl8 before having to stop. Other days I can squat 4.5pl8 and feel like a million bucks.
I bought some SBDs but they aren't a magical cure all. What do I do bros? Squats are one if my favorite lifts.
I only squat 50 pounds. :(
Is it bad to squat with scoliosis? I've only gone to 245 and repping that hurts my hips after. Should I deal with it or give up squats and focus on other leg exercises?
sounds like maybe some patellar tendonitis coming and going
>not squatting barefoot
not going to make it
I'll look into that, thanks user.
>improving form
Preach, brother. Form and patience are key.
>t. 565 squat
How many degrees of curvature do you have on X-ray?
Where on the knee? Show a picture.
Gonna need more information - where in the knee, does it happen at other times, what kind of pain (sharp, radiating, pins & needles, etc.), how is your form and mobility and all that
Shoes don't help unless you're front squatting. They're also a good band aid solution for poor ankle mobility if that's an issue for you.
nice shoes.
fuck yes
squats, deadlifts, rows all barefoot
chekt
i've never seen anyone with a respectable squat do it barefoot and i doubt you'll be the first
and staying un-snapped
don't worry about other peoples lifts so much, pizza boy
Squat shoes make it harder at first, since you end up using a lot more quad.
Shoes might help on the balance, but I'd try with a belt first. You can benefit many more lifts from it.
Don't know the degree but it's a slight c curve bending to my left which causes my left hip to be higher than my right
Pls be in London
T-mobile tuesdays giving 30% off and free shipping so these come out to $63 + tax. Worth it? Im working out in chucks right now.
I hurt myself at 225 a little bit, tried to work on mobility for months with very little progress in terms of squat form. The shoes are godlike, if lifting is a priority for you definitely a worthwhile investment like how people always say to invest in a good chair for your desk. If you get them on amazon you can exchange/return them easily as well.
A good squat requires good hip and ankle mobility and those arent acquired overnight. Keep working on full depth squats staying back on your heels and eventually you'll start packing on the lbs.
MORE mobility
Yeah, I like mine and I paid over 100 dollrydoos for them
The fix is by squatting more. Just tell people you’re restarting your squat to focus on form and everybody will respect it.
Ayyy I did something similar to my Adipower perfects.
>feels good after years of fucked up post-car accident ankles
I'm squatting with 2 dumbbells (each ~15kg).
I can barely get parallel thanks to awful hip and ankle mobility, and when parallel I'm leaning so heavily forward that my back becomes the limiting factor instead of leg strength.
Legit thinking of giving up on squatting completely and only doing single legged stuff and sprints.
Anyone tried these?
lmao
Don't bully please.
Why not squatting an empty bar?
they actually will help a lot but be careful not to use them as an excuse for not stretching your hamstrings or working on hip & ankle mobility
Are chucks good squatting shoes? I see people recommending them for deadlift but nothing on squats.
>Why not squatting an empty bar?
Only have dumbbells at home.
Heavy ones are not even comfortable at all to hold on your shoulders.
sounds like jumpers knee, i.e patellar tendonitis
with physical therapy / rehab training it can be fixed within around 4 months, provided it's still early stage and you don't continue to ignore the pain
When i actually started caring about my squats i bought one and now i think everyone should get one (a adidas power lift would e fine)
how long have you been lifting? getting a pair of shoes won't magically turn you into Bloatlord
The shoes in that pic have been modified by a cobbler to add an extra .75" in the heel. I think they were made for a female weightlifter with long femurs relative to her torso.
I bet mine is more embarrassing than yours.
I do OHP 5x5, then without changing the bar at all, I do 1x20 Squats. I am usually dripping sweat by the time I finish the set.
i do MAX 2 reps at 225 high bar, but i can pretty easily do 5 reps at that weight low bar. Still i only train high bar, am i retarded or not?
I regularly squat 2plate with just socks. Everyone thinks I’m a madman.
