Highbar Squats vs. Lowbar Squats
Jisoo wants you to do high bar
koreans ar ethe worst fuckn race on this planet fuckn disgusting and insanely rude and retarded
Low bar should only be used if you want to have a good powerlifting total, and even then you still might be stronger with high bar.
>t. 425lbs 5rep max low bar
High bar = conventional
Low bar = sumo
Any further speculation about the quality of either can be answered by this comparison
Pick one and stick to it. I like high bar, I’m able to lift more weight with it.
Lmao how much rejection must you face to love a empty shell?
doesn't matter do whichever one feels better
Lowbar is for beta incels
Groundbreaking idea here, guys: do both.
Do cycles focusing on low bar, then cycles focusing on high bar. If focusing on low bar, do high bar as an accessory, and vice-versa. Also, do front squats, too. Stop doing gay accessory work that gives you virtually no carry-over to your main lifts. Drop the leg press. Drop the leg extensions. Do more barbell work, using squat variations.
You get very similar amounts of hip contraction in both movements, anyway.
With that said, I personally like low bar more. My form is more dialed in. It's harder for me to keep more vertical on heavier high bar sets, and I find myself pitching forward a bit. But I feel high bar so much more in my quads.
TL;DR: DO BOTH.
>Do more barbell work, using squat variations.
The squat is a massive compound lift will be gruelling as fuck if you do it right and you're basically saying "just do 10-15 sets lmao" yeah sure thing
this is how i look at it too bruvva
Childhood is bickering about high vs lowbar, adulthood is realizing front squat is better.
I like to do wide stance low bar squats, along with high bar and front squats. I think that when you focus on only one type of movement, while the weight on the bar does continue to increase, you are just getting more efficient at the movement and not generally stronger. By doing squats with different stances and bar positions I get overall strength gains for my legs. Also, I don't compete which is why I like to do different movements and don't specialise.
As long as you are squatting it doesn't matter man
Front>high bar>low bar
Do you not know how to read? He clearly said do cycles of each, not do both in one workout.
Lowbar is better because it's more of a whole body exercise and your core is forced to brace against more weight. Lowbar should be your basic squat with isolation for quads if you decide they're lacking.
Highbar is easier technically and easier on flexibility, both upper and lower body.
Ultimately the difference isn't much, and if you do deadlifts you don't lose much by doing highbar.
leg press & leg extensions are useful and even powerlifters do them. Do your 3x5 or 5x3 or 3x3 or whatever main squat then do 5x20 leg press or hack squat or whatever.
Do low bar squats, conventional deads
It doesn’t matter. Just squat.
This, only sub 3 plate twinks worry about squat style. Just do what feels better.
Once you start putting a lot of weight on high bar you'll assume a low bar position with your body to push it up from the bottom because that's the position with the most leverage.
Enough said.
Highbar
Also
Lisa > Jisoo
i just try to rest the bar where it feels comfortable
Objectively false.
Rosé > Jisoo > Lisa = Jennie
Highbar makes more fun
Lowbar makes you afraid
depends on your goals
if you're a noob just do what's comfortable
>t. Corelet
Today I did 2 sets of high bar but as I was using my back to go up I decided to switch to low bar and could have better form
I don't know if I should keep low bar'ing because I have low mobility or if I should just keep doing high bar and try to adjust my core
High-bar targets my quads more and feels like a more complete leg workout. I followed rippletits advice and all it did was give me a huge ass. Now I go just past parallel and look up slightly instead of staring at the floor. I now get insane quad doms even with lighter weight.
Not an argument.
How to achieve high bar squat?
My ankle flexibility is shit and I can't get my knees in level with my toes, not to mention getting it in front of my feet.
I don’t understand the brainlets on this board anymore. Low bar uses more muscle mass. Why the fuck wouldn’t you do that as your primary lift? The only acceptable reason is a lack of shoulder mobility.
There's not much of a difference. If you're a grill or trying to become a twink, the lowbar works the hams and glutes more. Lowbar may also be considered if you do trapbar deads, so that you get enough posterior chain work.
