This explains why sprinters vs runners bodies look different. Runners look like stick fags

Not every runner is running a fucking marathon. Moderate cardio =/= long endurance cardio

I rum about 1.5/ 2 miles every time i go to the gym because im training to join the marines.
Am i going to become gay.

why dont just do 400 m sprints and shorter distances

this gave me TOP TIER cardio, no joking

also i knew personally a skinny kenian marathonist and these guys are FAST on short distances as well and pretty strong for their size

who the fuck thought running would kill your gains?

yeah maybe if you forget to eat aswell

Do you fucking read the screenshots you post?

MMA fighters, firefighters, cops, and soldiers all have to have good cardio and will have more test than you ever will.

Are there really people on Jow Forums that don't run?

I mean it's like the most important exercise there is.

To train the most important muscle you have.

>To train the most important muscle you have.
The penis?

not running marathons idiot, doing sprints is anabolic as fuck

I hate these studies. Why don't they study someone doing like 2 to 3 miles a day instead of fucking marathon runners. You know, something a normal average fit person would do, not some outlandish endurance event.

Its easier to run if you don't weigh 200 pounds

>joining the marines
probably

Idiot.

Long distance runners are not trying to build mass, the lighter they are the more of an advantage they have.

Sprinters are trying to build short term explosive power, so building mass is beneficial and they train to build mass.

You clearly don't understand how cardiovascular endurance is built

HIIT increases test

Is HIIT a good way to get a healthier hearth and lowering my heartbeat?

You increase you cardiovascular health by spending time at sub-maximal HR, ~ 60% of max. Go jog slowly for an hour three times a week. Theres no point rapidly increasing and decreasing you HR for a negligible periods of time if having a healthy heart is your goal.

Marathon running = specifically training your body to function on depleted glycogen stores. Training to be a good 5k runner has more in common with sprinting than it does with marathoning. And training for basic cardiovascular fitness is even less than that. Also, (((Kerner))).

>>pretty strong for their size

Can confirm. There is a tall skinny stick man who lifts in my gym who always wears t-shirts from races. I think he's competitive on the local racing scene. He is completely DYEL but he puts up pretty respectable numbers on all four of the big compounds, especially squat and diddly.

definitely pick up some crayola to develop your palette

> Training to be a good 5k runner has more in common with sprinting than it does with marathoning

The exact opposite of this is true, user

If you want to increase size for fuck sake don't start training your long term energy system and creating slow twitch muscle fibres with marathon cardio sessions.

Do both, retard

5k is 90% aerobic.

You are a fucking idiot long runners look like that because it offers the best performance in long distance running

20 minutes on a treadmill once a week is more than enough for me. As a lanklet, that alone keeps my bodyfat down despite chugging 1000 calorie shakes every day

Your capacity for HIIT and your ability to do it safely without JUSTing your body are exponentially higher if you do regular maintenance cardio as well.

It was an exaggeration but just because 5k is more aerobic doesn't mean that doing anaerobic workouts isn't critical; they're more important than aerobic workouts once your base is built. Marathoning is basically ALL aerobic.

Opposite of what you said is true, you even linked the discussion about it.

No they don't you fucktard.
Long distance runners are the only ones who are very thin.

Sprinters don't have those ripped bodies because they sprint. They lift weights to improve their explosive power, which helps with sprinting.

Fucking Christ Jow Forums is filled with some of the most inbred morons on this entire site.

I acknowledged it was an exaggeration. And as someone who has had success at both 5k and marathon, I can attest that my peak 5k workouts were much more like what my sprint bros did than my marathon workouts. A normal 5k workout would be 8x800m at faster than 5k pace with short rest, a normal marathon workout might be 5x10 minutes alternating between goal marathon pace and 30 seconds per mile slower than MP.
