I NEED YOUR HELP Jow Forums

Fellas I need to make some changes in my spending habits. I'm deep in a cut, on keto and eating at about 1500 cals a day. That being said, how would you plan your grocery list? What would be your essential supplements? What foods can be bought in bulk? What foods are important or not in regards to whether they're organic?

As of right now I basically eat the same breakfast every day: keto supplement + ghee/cocunut oil (this is expensive and will probably be replaced) in my coffee in the morning, an egg with bacon, onion, pepper and a bit of broccoli + protein shake for lunch, then salad with cheese, olive oil + vinegar then whatever meat for dinner (usually pork, ground beef or fish). Sometimes snack on raw almonds, pepitas or walnuts. I try to buy everything organic + onions free as of now, and supplement protein, creatine, D3, cod liver oil, potassium + zinc.

What's a keto supplement? You're probably not gonna do this but get rid of the creatine and zinc supplements. You don't need them. I don't know enough about the potassium. Just scrap the oil in your coffee as a whole wtf.

This is a dumb reply and you're a dumb person

I throw a $20 chunk of cheap meat into a slow cooker and eat it over a couple days usually one meal a day.. And I drink BLACK coffee with none of that faggy ghee hipster shit in it.
A friend of mine was doing atkins or paleo or some shit like that and got burned out constantly coming up with exotic meals all the time. I found something cheap that I like and keep eating it. My grocery bill went from.. a shitload down to under $50 a week eating well.

Keto supplement is electrolytes + proprietary blend to increase ketone production (probably bullshit but the increase in energy + focus is noticeable) I wouldn't get rid of the creatine solely for the fact that I already have a year's supply there's just not any reason to. I do the oil/ghee blend in the coffee as a quick and easy way to add ~fat cals to my morning and for taste.

So you're eating one meal a day, meat and black coffee, and your friend is the one getting burnt out? Nigga how are you not dead?

Shop at Costco. Buy fresh vegetables and meat. Nothing processed. It's cheaper and better for you.

Organic is a meme, it's literally just uglier food, don't waste your money. Supplements are a meme, you can get 95% of what you need from eating enough real food, don't waste your money.

If you're autistic about micronutrients start using Cronometer, it's great.

Plan to hit Costco every 1-2 weeks depending on how much you eat. Fruits/vegetables will last 10-14 days in the fridge, basically all meat can be frozen so no worries there. Start meal prepping your "boring" meals -- like the lunch you take to work every day. Commit the 2 hours on a Sunday and you'll be set all week.

Why Costco in particular? Doesn't that require a membership and if so is it truly worth the tradeoff?

>supplements are a meme
I'm really not taking anything I can get from food that fits my diet outside of zinc which can be expensive. The protein I'm taking is cheap, under a dollar per serving (20g protein) I feel like I'd be hard pressed to match that in terms of real food.

As for the last part of your post I don't really have a need to meal prep. The lunch I make every day is already at home one my break and takes all of five minutes. Dinner's are made just for me and generally give me 2-3 days of leftovers so it's not like I'm ever pressed for time. Basically only meal prepping I do is chopping vegetables.

>What foods can be bought in bulk?
When you have a freezer, everything.

>fresh vegetables
>better for you

It's 45 CAD for a base membership, I don't think anyone would be too worried about that.

Organic meats all have Omega fatty acid profiles that are pretty good. Organic Grass Fed Beef products also have profiles that help prevent and fight heart disease.

This is anecdotal, but I used to get pretty bad eczema every summer. A friend of mine that deals with it year round started eating purely organic and it nearly got rid of it for her. So I tried it out and I have not had a single eczema outbreak once this past summer. I eat the exact same foods as before, except they're all organic.

I don’t think you read my whole post lol I already said I try to buy everything organic. I left out grass fed but I look for that too.

I meant what foods are cost effective to buy in bulk

whatever is on discount

just eat only beef, don't need anything else.

Whatever you say Jordan

listen here bucko

If you're a poorfag, separate items by the macro they best provide, see the cost per macro/group and go from there.

Carbs
Oats
Rice, brown rice
Fucktons of other shit

Fat
Olive oil
Peanuts
Other nuts (expensive but calorically dense so you don't need that much)

Protein
Eggs
Boneless skinless chicken breast
((More expensive))
Whey powder
Egg whites
Shrimp
Fish

Vegetables
Brocolli frozen (add 1% mustard powder to it)

Genuinely curious what the mustard powder does for frozen broccoli?

Do I add it to thawed broccoli? Before or after cooking? Is it spicy?

Supplies myrosinase which is inactivated in frozen brocolli as it is blanched before freezing.

You should add it to broccoli before cooking. Look it up.

If it's at 1% it shouldn't be too spicy.

You don't need supplements if you eat a balanced diet.

My shopping list is:
Milk (Nonfag)
Plain Greek Yogurt (Nonfag)
Spinach
Broccoli
Chicken Thighs
Boneless/Skinless Chicken Thighs
Boneless/Skinless Chicken Breasts
Oranges
Eggs
Fiber One Cereal
Salmon
Almonds
Bananas

You can add other things like Rice, Quinoa, etc if you enjoy them.

Mix and match to get a good nutrient profile (Cronometer is good for this) and find something you enjoy. I spend about $40/week.
