Anyone got more examples old man strength? This guy challenged all the huge Finnish steroid abusing strongmen to compete against him in the 90s and they all lost to him when it came to most unconventional lifts. He also was offered lots of money from the states to do some strongmen shows but he eventually declined because he was afraid of injuries.
Nothing you do in the gym will compare to farmer strength. Or sailor strength. My dad was a sailor and his grip was industrial vice tier. I remember his body melted from cancer and his grip was still there.
We are so weak nowadays. At everything. We break up and we cry like bitches. We don't get the job we want and we cry like bitches. Our grandfathers lived through 2 fucking wars. We will never be the men they were.
>We will never be the men they were. We just need a new world war to fight. Killing commies will make men out of us all.

wtf is he doing walking in circles like a retard? it this altzheimer

Andrew Rogers
"farmer strength/oldman strength/brincklayer strength" is all fake shit. you idolised these people as children and carry that forward. the guy in op is exagerating the weights he used, and didnt beat any actual strongmen, and if he did, it was because of technique, not strength. your father was weaker than you remember
Julian Evans
You think pic related is some fake shit/fake weights? Have you ever handled wooden logs like that or do you have any idea how much strength you would need to even carry it like that on your shoulders considering it is not even some dried out log that has stayed in the sun?
yes, Ive worked as a labourer. old men are full of shit
a common thing they do is >ask you to do something light, but awkward size/shape so you initially struggle >you get used to it and find it easy after a few days >they brag about how you got stronger doing labour than you did lifting >then they tell you how strong they
Christian Rogers
>un calibrated object that has never been weighed >old man easily lifts it the obvious answer is that its lighter than it looks, not that there is a secret old man living in the woods who could btfo all the athletes in the world, but doesnt want to... youd have to be pretty gullible to believe the second explanation
Luke Cruz
i work in manual labour for 14years now. if you work with heavy stuff daily you get used to it. manual labour will make you stronger.
physical work is what makes a man out of a boy. lifting heavy in the gym is what makes a god out of man.
Levi Baker
A lot but less than you think. Grabbing something long like that from kts balancing point mitigates a lot of the strength you need to use.
Nicholas Gonzalez
>t.never shook hands with an old farmer
Fucking city dweller.
Cooper Richardson
I did wild land fire fighting for a summer. The man on the near right is 69 years old and would spend the entire 14 hour work day walking up and down cliffs and cutting down dangerous trees with full gear (50 lbs) in 95 degree heat. This guy was a logger all his life in Northern Maine and spent every second being active. Didn’t have a cell phone, computer , TV, etc.
Yeah I have. Wood can have a huge range of densities depending on how damp it is and what type of wood it is. You can't look at a log and tell how heavy it is with any degree of accuracy
What kind of structural modifications, you think, this man has done to the tractor, so he can lift it in the video for the sake of youtube fame and deceiving gullible people? The engine seems intact: so does many other specifications. Hidden leverage behind the tractor or some other sorts of shenanigans maybe?
Old man strength is in the tendons and ligaments. I thought I was strong as shit (weigh 180lbs ; OHP 175, Squat 400, Deadlift 475) until I went to work a menial job for a summer. All the unconventional lifting for hours at a time beat my body. I remember so distinctly that the joints in my fingers constantly ached. Went to the gym after a few months on the job (people we're great so I stayed) and was able to double overhand a 400lb deadlift raw. >This generation considers menial labor beneath them, even though that type of "training" and suffering is exactly what made their lauded ancestors strong
Ian Robinson
the tractor is clearly old and broken, otherwise he wouldnt be tipping it over like a retard. old equipment easily weighs hundreds of kilos less than new
and the centre of gravity is high and at the from of the tractor. he is pulling from the back wheel, he has good leverage to tip it, if youve ever ridden a tractor youll know how prone to tipping they can be even from a pot hole
stop sucking old man dick and realise these people arent superhuman, just slightly stronger than normal old men, and far far weaker than anyone who lifts weights
James Smith
So you would say that it is not impressive feat of strength and people who lift weights casually at the gym, in fact do much harder lifts, and this man could be said to be only slightly above average in terms of strength?
Alexander Peterson
yes, although compared to other 70 year old men he is doing very well. this is one thing I can admit about labours, some of them stay strong well into old age (the ones who dont eat kebabs everyday). although lifting works the same way if you dont quit. but quitting a hobby is more common than quitting a job
Austin Perez
Parked on obvious slope

and in the next world war we will kill commies, or I will at least
Logan Rogers
I'm surprised to see that on this board where people purport to know at least basic shit about strength training, there are so many faggots to idealize and romanticize "muh manual worker strength". any 16 yo faggot who's been lifting "for aesthetics" for 2 months would btfo "muh old farmer".
these people just have destroyed joints and shot hormone production due to day long endurance work. not the life you want.
I guarantee you, the guy in the OP did not beat any roided pro strongman at any test of strength. that is a fact.
this bullshit is the ultimate dyel normie cope. they see strong, swole guys and just have to believe "they don't have functional strength like manual workers do". I mean it's pretty much just a twist on the functional strength meme (which we all agree is bullshit), so yeah, it's pretty weird that so many of you actually fall for it.
Isaiah Moore
Its not. Been lifting like a dyel for 4 years, good gains but only in mass. Then i worked at a ware house for a year, lifting boxes up to 30 kg from weird as angles. All of the sudden, lifts increase up to 40 percent which is absolutly incredible, given that there was no gain in weight at all.
Ryder Brooks
>tractors prone to tipping Do you even listen to what you say? tipping over from a pothole? a pretty deep pothole, considering the tractor would have still flipped back at him at this point
>lifts increase up to 40 percent which is absolutly incredible then you really were lifting like a dyel. that's literally impossible if you've been actually training hard-ish for 4 years. or training at all really.
somebody tell eddie hall that he's been doing it all wrong, he needs to work as a farmer, with that functional strength he'll be pulling 900kg in no time.
daily reminder that this is the type of guy who believes in old man/farmer strength lmao
Wyatt Roberts
wish i had a job like that
Elijah Brown
More or less this just crab in a bucket mentality
Michael Hall
can you bearhug squat above 100kg, then throw it on your shoulder and carry it in the 3th floor? i now i can because i did it many times at work.
Colton Ramirez
Yeah I work manual labor and have for almost a decade now. Have one of the strongest grips in my gym. After about 350 lbs. Most peoples grip fails it seems. So far my best double over hand is 405 at 183 lbs
Joshua Peterson
as a matter of fact I can and so can anyone who deadlifts above 160kg
on the other hand I doubt you did it because I don't think any company would put their employees in a position where they have to do that since most people are fucking dyels.
yeah no, that's average grip. Granted I was 200lbs when I did it (haven't tried doh in a while) but I could do 4pl8 after like 9 months of lifting, and I have tiny hands.
Robert Hall
>on the other hand I doubt you did it because I don't think any company would put their employees in a position where they have to do that since most people are fucking dyels.
you never ever worked in manual labour and you have no fucking idea what you talk about
Christopher Thomas
>We will never be the men they were. Broken from traumatic war experiences? My grandfather was an alcoholic wreck, as was his father, just because he went to war. Strong as fuck, yes - but fucking insane fuckers.
Tyler Morales
stop swearing so much desu
Adam Ward
>That moment when your father is lying in bed, spending his last few hours with his family, and he grips your hand, with the same power and strength its always had. His breathing intensifies and his heart rate jumps, he doesn't look scared, or sad, he looks disappointed, his breathing slows and his lobster claw loosens, dinner is ready.
Aaron Robinson
I worked on a construction site for a while to pay for uni. pushing 100kg wheelbarrows around, it was pretty relaxing actually. it absolutely killed all the dyels who worked there, but to anyone who actually had any semblance of strength it was easy shit. manual labourer strength is a giant fucking meme, as I said you guys are basically "muh functional strength" dyel memesters.
and yeah, manual labourers do very little actual lifting, like movers use harnesses and shit. no company will ever require that they lift anything over 100kg by themselves.
Juan Jackson
fucking this absolutely based and redpilled
Jackson Rogers
>commies Brainwashed retarded am*rilardo detected
Thomas Gonzalez
A purge would be best for all. Whether the right or the left win, they get the world they wanted.
Jeremiah Perry
One time I went camping with a cadet friend of mine I met in uni. A bunch of his strange hippie friends came along, as well as this one guy called mongo. Mongo was spoken about as an enigma, he had straggly hair almost covering his eyes, was wearing a red lumber jacket and didn't seem to talk to anyone. Shortly after we set up camp in the forest I went for a pee, and saw mongo heaving back and forth on this massive thick tree. I left confused and assuming he would go for a smaller tree considering it didn't seem to be budging. About half an hour later while we were at the campfire I hear TIMMMBBBERRRRRRR and then this massive tree coming crashing down destroying other trees in it's path. I was in awe that he managed to rip that thing out with his bare hands, especially after seeing the roots, but no-one else seemed to care, like this was a normal thing for mongo to do. I boiled it down to an extreme case of retard strength. Later he drank more than I've ever seen any man drink and still lasted longer than most of the others until he passed out.
Lmao I bet you'd struggle with 25kg of plasterboard.
Sebastian Morales
holy fuck it's so obvious you don't even lift. if you did, you would know that *for building strength* 1 year of barbell training is better than 30 years of being a farmer or a sailor or whatever Jow Forums's fantasy daddy does for a living. these people are just not strong and would get btfo strength wise by any 1/2/3/4 dyel. if you disagree with that you have literally never lifted in your life.
why do strongmen, powerlifters and even NFL guys and wrestlers train primarily with barbells and not doing stupid manual labour? GEE, I DON'T KNOW, MAYBE BECAUSE IT BUILDS ZERO (0) FUCKING STATIC STRENGTH?
Easton Taylor
This 100%. Old man strength is bullshit; the only true aspect of it is that men generally keep getting stronger until their late 40s, and that is probably because they start weighing more. Manual laborers will have very strong hands for obvious reasons, but most construction workers and such can't even squat 4pl8 or something. Of course they will have more endurance than you, but a properly fed and worked out gym rat will always overpower the average manual laborer, unless the latter is a genetic freak like the guy on OP. Stop idolizing a bunch of illiterate boomers you fucking losers.
>strongmen They don't "mainly" train with barbells >Powerlifters Their entire sport revolves around lifting barbells >Athletes in general Barbell strength training is much more specific than just "general labor". Specificity of training matters. Athletes also do a variety of training, just lifting weights isn't going to win you a wrestling match. It'll for damn sure help, of course, but you need to be know how to wrestle to benefit 100% from lifting. I'm not the guy you're replying to, but just any 1/2/3/4 lifter can't BTFO any farmer in what farmers have been doing for decades. They can't properly translate their barbell strength into farm work right away. They'll do more than a pencil neck nonlifter will, but it'll take them time to grow accustomed to the specific work they're doing.
Aiden Barnes
ITT: People who have never worked a day in their lives and cannot comprehend the weight of logs. This isn't fucking Minecraft, NEETs.
Camden Lopez
literally worked manual labour. its nothing
Eli Wood
You´re a fucking retard and delusional if you think anybody handles logs like that with bare hands, even pro-lumberjacks do not fucking lift them like that they all use machines
I should add that I'm not disagreeing with the fact that barbell training > manual labor for strength. I'm only arguing that you're not going to be better at manual labor than a manual laborer just because you can deadlift lmao4pl8
Cooper Green
I mean manual labour jobs are nothing
Elijah Harris
not initially, but within a few days you will be
Chase Ross
>They don't "mainly" train with barbells they do. well barbells and specialty bars.
I think we agree.
what I'm saying is, for people who are trying to build multi purpose limit strength, actually lifting will be 1000x better than doing day long conditionning sessions (which is what manual labourers do, and it does more harm than good)
when a football player or a wrestler wants to gain limit strength to help him in his sport, he doesn't go on a farm for a few months, he lifts weights. I never said specifity didn't win the day. that also applies to the "lifter would btfo farmer" part, I didn't mean he would btfo him at farm work, I meant static strength wise, like at a powerlifting meet, or a strongman contest (which are the best testers of all around strength we have), the 1/2/3/4 dyel would win 100 out of 100 times because he trains to gain strength.
farmers are good at farm work, there's no doubt about it, but that's about it. saying "they have REAL FUNCTIONAL strength unlike you dumb meatheads and your fake air filled muscles" like so many faggots itt is facebook tier.
Henry James
>I think we agree. you're retarded i think we agree
Jack Nguyen
look at the size of those writes, that's a real man.
this is why fitizens should do everything they can to bring about the next great war asap
if we don't accelerate to the fun part, we will be old when it happens or worse, miss it altogether
Ayden Martinez
as I said multiple time itt. I have worked manual labour jobs before
Carson Clark
How do I get a job in construction with no experience?
Ethan Torres
How do I become this strong?
Levi Long
The big lesson most of you turds are missing is muscular endurance. If all you do in the gym is your 5x5 and then you suddenly take up a labor job where you are doing hundreds of conventional lifts and exertions per day for at least 8 HOURS then of course you will see a huge jump in strength.
It's all in the programming fellas.
Thomas Murphy
show up and not be a junkie. its literally this simple
Austin Green
>I said u lied
Eli Young
I didnt tho. Ive worked on building sites, landscape gardening, warehouses and factories. none of those came anywhere close to squatting 5pl8
you just have daddy issues you giant batty
Elijah Richardson
I want to have strong fulfulling sex with strong able bodied 55 year old lumberjack mature full men sex long penis in penis out
Anthony Cox
Its not bullshit as many anons claim. I have witnessed many a chads getting humbled by bricklayers and farmers. They are skinny when young and a truck tire gut when older but good lord they are strong. They don't look like it but trust me they are. Barbell training and gym in general might give you visible gains, but farmwork gives you invisible gains, which is more deadly in my opinion. It's kinda like retard strength. >inb4 enlightened fags ITT say retard strength is not real
