A more appropriate example would be a tv show host or something similar, and they blink all the time at appropriate moment (such as during pauses betwen sentences or during movemente, etc).
Nobody talks for so long without blinking, and even if he didn't keep his eyes wide open like that it would still stand out as super weird.
