How do you lose weight as fast as possible without fucking your shit up? From my understanding, basically, just eat 1000 calories less than you usually do until you've dropped the weight you wanna drop. Avoid sugary shit and all that as much as possible, eat better obviously. And throw in "light," exercise? That's a part I don't fully get. What's light for exercising? Should I lift light weights for half an hour, have half a protein shake every day to preserve the muscle i have or something? Or is any amount of exercise good even when you're cutting that many calories out daily? I literally do not know anything about weight loss. I did lose like 30 pounds in 2 months or so, about a year ago after going on a gluten free diet and running on the treadmill like crazy, but I read that was probably horrible for me and it's a miracle I didn't get sick or anything. So yeah, how do you anons go about losing weight? Is it possible to drop 20 pounds or more in say, 2 months? How about building muscle while doing so? I'm 21 years old, 5'11 and about 190lbs if that matters.
>pic related is what I feel like
Used to weigh 230 in my teens though, god that was horrible.

Water fast
I thought you can only fast a few times a week for a certain number of hours, otherwise it harms you?
The longest recorded fast was 382 days long. The Scotsman went from 465lbs - 180lbs, and after a checkup 5 years later, he was only 196lbs.
He was under medical supervision, but just check out the fasting threads that are often started on here, or Jow Forumsfasting on reddit.
Jesus Christ
Why do people say you can't lose more than say a pound or two a week then? There has to be a reason most things I read say just cut out 500-1000 calories daily and exercise lightly, I would think.
>How do you lose weight as fast as possible without fucking your shit up?
Fast on saltwater (snake juice) for as long as you can tolerate it. Then refeed on low carb meals and then fast some more afterwards.
When you fast for 48 hours (in my case, at least), you'll burn through your glycogen stores and switch over to ketone bodies (via fat deposits), which burns 100% body fat as long as you don't ingest any food.
The saltwater will keep your necessary electrolytes up so you don't feel ill.
Doing this gives you the best bang for your buck since it involves little work, a very small amount for money investment (for the salts), but will grant you the absolute best results for fat loss.
All you need to do is stay dedicated to the art and it'll pay off.
that's a fat people meme to stop from trying too hard
same people will say an hour at the gym a day is overtraining
Consuming 100 calories a day is a world apart from consuming 0 calories a day, when it comes to how your body reacts.
Once your body realizes you're not getting any outside sources of food, it begins to burn your own body fat. If you have a very high caloric deficit, but are still eating, your body ends up eating a lot of your own muscle, as well as fat.
>your body eats muscle
Wrong. Not until you’re in the single digit bodyfat. The heart is a muscle, the body won’t go eating it. You lose water not actual muscle fiber. It’s why when you’ve been out of lifting for a long time you seemingly gain it back quicker when starting again
(((They))) tell you that because they don't want you to know the truth about the safest and most effective form of health management because there are billions of dollars at stake when it comes to the health industry.
The only thing doctors and normies will tell you to do is pop pills and eat more to make you lose weight, which is ridiculously ass backwards compared to the reality of the situation.
False. Protein catabolism is detectable and notable even when fasting in the obese.
>It’s why when you’ve been out of lifting for a long time you seemingly gain it back quicker when starting again
WRONG
This is because your body retains the myonuclei that are painstakingly created over time when building muscle, and even though you lose muscle fibers, you keep the myonuclei, and it's much easier to regain the lost muscle, as you already have the myonuclei there.
except literal dietary interventions and starvation experiments show otherwise, nitrogen excretion is vastly increased and so is lean mass loss on a state of starvation or fasting, it's even worse the longer the starvation is, and takes much longer to recover from the longer the total duration of the fasting period.
How many strength and power athletes do any fasting with any kind of regularity? 0.
>Cardiac muscle is the same as every other muscle
Your argument was flawed from the start. The other anons are already telling you the other reasons you're wrong. Simple logic check - you need amino acids to function. You don't store amino acids like you do fat/carbs. You can't make amino acids out of fat. Where do you get them from?
You are just parroting information you heard on /fast/ that was already based on unsubstantiated claims
800 calories a day fatso
>What's light for exercising?
Literally just take long walks every day. That's light exercise.
>5'11 190 lbs
>want to lose 20 lbs
I really really really hope you're a girl (no penis).
>The heart is a muscle, the body won’t go eating it.
that doesn't mean anything at all. the body already unconsciously prioritizes areas of your body for survival. there's a reason your fingers and toes get cold before your chest in freezing weather.
Never heard the saltwater thing, I'll have to look into that, does make sense to me though. But huh... so you do really long fasts? Is it safe to start off with say, a day you think? I haven't read much about fasting but I've read that 12 hours is a good starting point. Why, I'm not sure. I've gone more than 12 hours without food before, drinking lots of water. I've also read just having some fruit during a fast can help your body a lot in getting used to it. Or does ANY food, even just some fruit set you back?
Huh. That's odd. So if you don't eat at all, your body will just burn a ton of fat. But if you have some watermelon or a couple nuts over the course of 24 hours, your body will burn muscle? My chiropractor told me fruit fasts are a thing... but if what you say is true I guess that would be quite counterproductive to say the least.
Wouldn't be surprised at all. I know the legal system is for the most part set to play against us, and many doctors do just want our money. So what you say does make sense.
I'm leaning towards fasting atm. Cutting out 500 or so on days I don't fast. Sounds like anything else isn't nearly as productive or safe, but, idk, haven't read much on it yet.
Lmao, why's that? I just think that 170 is about the weight where I'd be at a good body fat %, and can start bulking. Right now I got a ton of fat, loose skin and shit. Well maybe not a ton, but, it doesn't look good.
>I haven't read much about fasting but I've read that 12 hours is a good starting point.
You need to do 16 minimum to see any real benefit. You want to get into a faster state so Growth Hormone is up, insulin and leptin are down, and Testosterone is up, then stay there for at least a few hours to see some benefit. Obviously, going past that will increase the hormonal benefits, within reason.
I'm fairly sure 12 hours is the time to enter a fasted state. Keep in mind part of the advantage of fasting is straight calorie reduction, so you want to pick a time period that cuts out at least one, and preferably two, meals. Fasting from 8:00pm to 6:00pm the next day is solid, if you can stick it out
There's a website I've seen that did a pretty good write up on how it works. lifetoptips.com
It'll explain how you should go about fasting, and the different lengths of fasting you can do. Fruit fasts are a thing, and they are effective at making you lose weight, as weight loss is simply determined by CICO, but unless you need to make a weight limit, nobodies goal is weight loss, but fat loss.
Ahhhhhhh, thanks for explaining it. Makes sense that you need to sorta stay in that area of fasting for the benefits. I wonder why anyone would say to stop right about when the real fasting starts. I have a sensitive stomach but never had any real problems going 12 hours without food. I think I'll start with 16 hours and see where it goes from there a couple days a week or so.
I really like how that website goes into detail about the different fasts, thanks for that link! I suppose that last thing you said is true, I really don't know what weight I wanna stop at. I just wanna get rid of alot of the fat I have.
>I wonder why anyone would say to stop right about when the real fasting starts.
Because it's easy. My usual non-fasting eating schedule typically has a twelve-hour gap between dinner and breakfast. But any Intermittent Fasting plan that doesn't involve skipping meals isn't worth your time.
The key is to make it work around your schedule. I frontloaded all my lectures so I can skip breakfast and not even think about eating until after 12pm, and can push it even later by doing a workout right after class, or some kind of social thing without food.
>How many strength and power athletes do any fasting with any kind of regularity?
Bodybuilders getting competition-ready
How often do you fast though? I'm guessing I'll need to more than you anyway. Just curious how often someone whose already in decent shape does it.
Fasting is a meme cult. LIFT WEIGHTS AND DO CARDIO WHILE EATING 500 BELOW TDEE.
There are no shortcuts other than roids.
