Just got Invisalign

Just got Invisalign.

Gotta take them off and brush my teeth every time I eat.

My dentist said it will take me about 1 year. Should I just treat the next 1 year as a cutting/maintenance phase?

It depends on how much you can eat per meal and/or how much inconvenience you can handle.

Personally I suggest you take the 'invisalign diet' and cut down your meals to two a day (or even one if you want to go full OMAD).

I'm surprised it's taking you almost a year, my program is only going to take 14 weeks and my teeth are pretty fucked.

Is this shit expensive?
I had braces and now my teeth are slowly starting to fuck up.

Really expensive for someone on an average wage, yeah. Mine is going to cost around $3.8k for only 14 weeks, I have no clue how much OP's treatment will cost being almost a year in length.

In the end I think it'll be worth it, I've hated my teeth my whole life.

I'm in Australia, get free healthcare & mental healthcare. But we don't get free dental, so yeah, Im paying for it all in cash, but I'm an autistic cheap cunt, so I have a large savings account.

I literally NEVER smile or open my mouth around people because of how bent out of shape my teeth are, so yeah the change is worth it.

The logic I applied to it is what use is an aesthetic body if your teeth look like shit?

Don't they have groupons for this shit

Why would you spend that much

14 weeks for invisialign? You sure its invisalign? It usually takes 1-2 years. Unless you're getting some special kind of advanced faster treatment.

Yeah dude, I am Aussie as well.
Have private health but was just curious.

Another invisalign aussie currently on tray 5/39, on 10 day changes so going to take a bit over a year with possible refinements

i blame the 5%ish english genes i have for my fucked up smile, it takes away from my appearance so much even with a fit body

my front teeth are the main problem, but the first teeth that need to be moved are the molars to make room :'(

hoping to have some movement on the front teeth before new years eve so i can be confident and bang some sloots on the night

I'm in Melbourne and shopped around and the average was $7000. You pay for it over-time though. I don't have private health so I couldn't tell you how much your dental cover would take off. Maybe a few grand?

The cost is only slightly above that of braces in my country. Braces are much slower and uglier however they do fix more issues than Invisalign. Invisalign can't handle crossbites and overbites too well, for example.

It's Invisalign, I assure you. The technology has apparently improved dramatically in the past few years - I wasn't even offered the possibility of having Invisalign in 2015. The average program length is around 14-16 weeks at the practice I go to.

sup bros, wondering whether to get veneers or invisalign. anyone else make this decision too?

not too stoked about the shake of my teeth, and i know invisalign wouldnt change that.

although im 25 and shaving off half my enamel wouldnt be great.

MY OVERBITE MAKES MY CHIN LOOK SMALL AS FUCK HELP AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

you can get your teeth contoured after invisalign, makes a HUGE difference

don't get your teeth permanently shaved down unless theres no other option mate!

Will Invisalign fix this shit?

just wondering, does free healthcare include dermatology? like if you wanted, you could just go see a dermatologist and get all the tretinoin and tazorac in the world for free?

i ask because my 1oz tube of tazorac costs $630 here in america lol

The way they have moved over the years is making it harder to clean them, and it also looks like shit.

yep, almost a dead ringer to my teeth, except my top front teeth are worst

initial length of treatment is 390 days for me, coming up to almost 50 days completed already and the movement is quite insane

teeth contoured? please explain good sir.

also i've seen some veneer variants like lumineers which seem to not require any, or very little, shaving of the enamel

pic related, you can get your teeth reshaped

this is also removing enamel though right? they're reshaping by taking enamel off?

I guess every situation is different, depending on the current shape and size of the tooth, and what the desired end look is will determine if the tooth can be reshaped without first taking enamel off

oh - and no its not primarily taking enamel off, they can use 'tooth bonding' - the application of a tooth-colored resin material using adhesives and a high intensity curing light

I'm 20/51, weekly changes.
Might try to cut it down to 6 or 5 days a tray, I've been wearing the fuckers at least 22 hours a day and everything's going perfectly.

interesting... never even thought this was an option thanks man

>tfw teeth are so fucked up invisalign can't help me
Feels annoying man.
