I'm not a big fan of cold showers because I dont feel clean after, but I'll wash up then switch it to cold after for a quick shock rinse. I also like to dump a bucket of cold water on myself after a long hot sauna
I like to take a quick dip under the cold water long enough to say the Lord's prayer after every normal shower, but nobody, and I mean NOBODY could ever convince me to only take cold showers. A warm shower after a bit of cardio in the cold northern evening is one of the very, very few things I genuinely enjoy in life. Quit sugar, quit drinking, nofap, sleep 8hours a night, noporn, whatever, but I'll never only take cold showers.
Warm showers are just too nice. I also spend 1+ hour in the shower daily. Fight me faggots.

My face gets flared up red after taking a long hot shower so I start with hot and gradually lower the temperature. If you have frizzy hair, try at least cleaning your hair with cold water. It will help.

I did cold showers for a few months.
The first few times it felt amazing (that is to say after the shower, the shower itself kinda sucks)
The closest thing I could compare it to is taking hydromorphone but still being very focused mentally.
You just feel super comfy in your body, it also wakes you up.
It's diminishing returns after that though, like the effect is halved every time.
There was a noticeable impact on my skin or hair but nothing huge.
Possibly just a side effect of using soap and shampoo more sparingly since you don't want to spend 5-10 minutes lathering and rinsing off.
Especially with shampoo during the winter, after a few seconds rinsing my hair I'd start to get massive brain freeze.
Worth trying? Definitely.

I know that anti inflammatory drugs were shown to inhibit muscle repair in rats with muscle damage, but has a more direct study been done concerning the effects of cold on humans? As far as I was aware, the role of cold in reducing inflammation was simply delaying the effects, not blocking or removing them.

The reduction in sperm isn't caused by cooking them. Heat hinders their production.
There are such things called heat shock proteins which are created when youre exposed to low temperatures that are supposed to help with inflammation.
That list however doesnt seem very accurate and anything that says detox should be trashed immediately.
It feels good to have a cold shower though even if its for nothing more that the endorphin rush you get.

What DOES work, and is documented to have health benefits, proven over thousands of years of tradition across multiple cultures worldwide is steam room or sauna for a few minutes and then take an icy cold shower, jump in snow, etc to cool off. That shit is better than drugs. Native Americans did it. Nords did it. Middle easterners did it. Asians did it. Romans did it. Everybody agrees super hot plus super cold equals awesome.
