So I thought I'd offer my opinion since I haven't been on here in years and regularly have encounters on Tinder, Bumble, in bars, etc. So the most success I have had picking up women is usually starting with something spontaneous/forward or something that leads down a rabbit hole of interest.
Example first messages:
1. So is this the part where we agree to get drinks tomorrow at 8? (I love this line because you can sneak it in at any time during a conversation and it has a high success rate).
2. Ryan Gosling or Ryan Reynolds? (This one is hit or miss, you can use any two attractive actors but the idea is to show that you are comfortable with your sexuality enough to point out that they are good looking men).
3. Compliment them on an article of clothing, then follow up with "I hope you're going to wear that when we grab drinks at 8 on Friday/Saturday/etc. (You can lose them here though, if they say that day doesn't work for them, then just simply ask them what they would suggest.)
The trick is to be quick and interesting, because the longer a conversation goes on, the more stale it becomes. I usually coerce them to meeting within 3 messages.
Tips:
Don't be afraid to be goofy like you are with your friends, a lot of times women like really spontaneous behavior and to see a person who is comfortable and relaxed.
Chivalry is not dead, if you are confident AND a gentlemen, a lot of girls get tired of dealing with fuckboys so that is to your advantage.
Don't ever put someone down while you talk to her, in fact it helps to compliment a person rather than be an asshole, even if they did something to piss you off. Calm and confident.
Eye contact, always maintain eye contact when talking to her, pretty simple.
Make her laugh. Don't tell literal jokes, but teasing her about non-offensive things is always a good go to.
With these rules that I sort of developed over several years of trial and error I finally got it right. You just have to keep trying and learn.
