It's not something I've ever considered and I don't think it's that important. Maybe it helps some people keep the bar the right distance from their fulcrum at the hip/how close it is to the shin but that's what matters most in the deadlift.

logic behind pushing thru heels is that you kinda fall backwards so your weight helps you get bar up and back, also keeps back from going foward away from body.
