>don't lift for 2 weeks
>immediately break PRs after the break
>everything feels easier
How does that work?
>don't lift for 2 weeks

it's almost as if your body needs to rest
fatigue dissipation
the reason you should deload every few weeks
Most people don't take enough breaks.
Also, because "deload weeks" are retarded. Just take like 4-5 days off and don't do shit, you won't lose strength.
should I deload, even if I keep progessing?
>tfw going to the netherlands
>the week before I go is a deload week
>just gonna go HAM and use the vacation days for complete rest
your body needs rest
disregard thisdeload weeks are a good way to manipulate fatigue and keep progressing
if you're past the beginner phase yes, or you'll accumulate too much fatigue
yes, you will stall less often
program your deloads every 3 or 5 weeks, depending on how much volume and intensity you train with
they aren't
light work actually works better than no work when it comes to getting rid of fatigue
Your CNS has fully recovered and your glycogen stores are filled to the brim in everything. It's a meme that you somehow get much weaker after a week or two off, conditioning yes, weaker not really.
>don't lift for 2 weeks
>not meeting my protein intake or keeping track of calories
>look better than i have for the past month
>light work actually works better than no work when it comes to getting rid of fatigue
dont forget youre also practicing the lifts, better technique = easier lift = more weight can be pushed = more gains
She’s like 37 And still hot
shocking the body and muscle confusion bro
>deload weeks are retarded
Keep that mindset, dude. It's gonna help you.
kek
36, still unbelievable like wtf
You rested. Your body made adaptions based on Your last training.
>go on vacation for a week
>eat amazing food everyday
>no access to a gym, but walking everywhere.
>Humid as shit
>Again, Eat like a ton of food. Feel full the entire trip.
>Come home and weigh self.
>Lost a pound.
lel
How much should i deload? Is there an approx %?
For 1 week?
Sometimes you need to take a week off for your CNS.
Yes.
Beginner lifters have a 48 hours recovery period
Intermediate 1 week
Advanced, more than 1 week
That's backwards. Recovery time decreases progression because the adaptions being made become smaller and smaller as a lifter approaches their genetic limits.
>Recovery time decreases progression
decreases with progression
>went on a trip for work
>2 days
>come back
>lost 5 lbs
>hit gym for first time in a week
>hit both squat and deadlift PR same day
>what is a taper
>what is a plateau
>what is a peak
It's a well established training principle for all sports that progressive overload followed by a short period of decreased intensity produces a peak in performance.
nothing you've written contradicts my post
This. Also the week after your reload, do you increase weight like normal or do you do the last weight lifted on your last regular workout?
what does it mean if I come back after a few weeks and my lifts all go down by like 10 lbs? abysmal test?
>poor diet
>poor sleep
>too much stress
pick any or all
I also reached my peak phase taking every other day off which kind of surprised me.
Today the fun ended when i got pinned on bench, oh well!
>stuck at 80kg bench press for like a month
>go on holidays, eat like shit and drink 12 out of 15 nights
>come back
>easily do 4x80kg
>try 90kg and can do them just fine
>try 100kg and reach 2 reps
That's the most I've benched and that was in 2010 lel
>never passed 2plate
OUCH!
The longer I look, the worse it gets
They may be smaller but they take longer to recover from, lad.
This is why beginners can do linear progression while more advanced lifters have to do stuff like the Texas method.
>brutally cut for 1 month
>All lifts go up
>Bench goes down 30%
2 plates is decent bench, fuck off cunt
You obviously needed a deload you dingus.
kek fucking chickens. Saw one running the opposite direction of the flock into a dog's jaws once
source?
I still feel sore a week after a heavy big 3 day. 2 weeks isn't enough to lose gains if you've been training hard. I mean, don't take 2 weeks between every workout. But as a one-off break before maxing it can work. Eat taters and creatine for best results.
My best wrestling tourney last year (took 1st beating dudes 12-1, 8-0, 7-0) was after a week of literally zero working out. Where my /wellrested/ boiz at?
physically you may have needed more rest and now you got it. psychologically you may have been going through the motions, not pushing as hard as you could because you were bored with the endless repetition.
poor trigger discipline, 2/10
she was actually shooting a nigger off a rooftop while taking a cute pic
that's why she's my waifu
there are a few schools of it
I reduce volume by about 30% and weights by about 10%.
eg. if I do 3 sets of 5 at 100kg, during a deload week I do 3 sets of 3 at 90kg.
on accessories I do 1-2 less sets with 3-5 less reps, as weight is not that significant
I usually follow some linear periodization model, so I increase my training max after a deload. If you don't, and just try to increase weight every session use the last weight from before deloading.
