Let's say my diet is normally low in Omega 6 or sugar, then a cheat meal would be something out of a fast food joint that is relatively high in O6 or some sugary shit, but I don't need to make it an excessive portion because I'm not a retard who will never make it. Fructose is less likely to be stored as fat, due to it requiring more effort for the body to metabolise it. That doesn't mean you should eat it, but it is less bad than sucrose.

Sucrose is half fructose, and its glucose fraction doesn't explain its negative effects, its fructose fraction does. Read the article it's not only about storing fat, but fructose does increase lipogenesis. You'll never get nearly as harmful effects from the same amount of glucose in that Oreo shake if it comes from white basmati rice for instance.
