Comfy vidya

What are some comfy video games? I have a ps4 and pc. I played zelda breath of the wild on the cemu emulator about 7 months ago and it was extremely comfy. What comfy games have you been playing, anons?

Morrowind for starters. There's no other game in the Elder Scrolls series which encourages quite so much quiet contemplation sightseeing, enjoying alien landscapes and just watching the artificial world go about its business.

I also recommend Cataclysm: Dark Days Ahead. It has an insane difficulty curve, but once you figure out how to survive the first few days, it becomes a comfy simulator as you raid towns for furniture and supplies to construct your little hidey-hole where you can read survival books while you watch for wandering zombears who want to eat your head like a meat lollipop.

Even more comfy is UnReal World, where the challenge is just you against the world, running trap lines and throwing spears at seals, trying to store up calories to keep you going while your fish jerky dries so you can survive long enough to build a well-insulated cabin in the woods. It's entirely up to you whether you want to spend your days tracking elk through the woods with your faithful hunting dogs at your side or trade rabbit skins for some rough chainmail and go hunting slavers for loot.

Does morrowwind have a decent amount of mods to make the gameplay/graphics a little bit closer to modern standards?

you know there aint no comfier game than minecraft. I've never had a better time than curling up under a blanket and building a nice little home.

It's going to look pretty fucking dated no matter what, but after a few hours you will adjust.
I'm honestly really excited for the Skywind project, if that's still going on, just for the chance to see Vvardenfell in cutting edge of 2011 graphical fidelity.

I -want- to say Witcher 3 is comfy, but it's kinda hard sometimes with the tedious bullshit they throw at you. Like all the looting, crafting, treasure hunting, and inventory management: it's sort of rewarding in the sense that they activate your lizard brain n shit, but it really isn't since almost none of what you find is good for shit but selling off and weighing you down.

The only games I truly find comfy are story driven games with likeable, memorable characters and emotional impact, like Life is Strange, Undertale, and The Cat Lady, or just casual, pretty games. I also liked Gone Home and A Story About My Uncle. They don't make you mindlessly grind shit for the sake of "muh playtime" or "muh content."

Mirror's Edge has a very comfy style/aesthetic, but the bullshit time limits on bullshit side missions kinda kills it for me. Plus they might as well all be the same, delivering some random tube from here to there in a super short time.

Who cares? Yes, there are plenty of mods which increase the graphics and improve the models and some which even rebuild the game from the ground up, but if a game is immersive enough you stop noticing. I've been playing NetHack non-stop since 1988 and that's just a bunch of fucking letters on a screen.

I've been playing some ETS2 lately, waiting for my unopened copy of FS2004 to come in the mail.

are you playing with a wheel? I really want to love ets2 but I always start falling asleep while playing it and I feel that's in part because it just isn't that fun without a wheel, but I also don't want to spend a shitton of money just to find out

Nope, I'm playing with mouse and keyboard, the mouse standing in as the steering wheel so I can still have analog control. I'll get a wheel eventually though. I don't even really think it's a "game", more like a highly interactive screen saver. It's nice to listen to a podcast or something and haul cargo hundreds of miles. Cruise control really helps, it lets you zone out a little bit.

Then once you get a wheel you'll want pedals, then other peripherals.

Skyrim(i always play it when im sick and its one of my fav games and there is a list of a bunch of more reasons) dishonored( i just love it so much that its comfy to just finish it again in three days and relive old comfy memories) and lastly bully(way too many reasons its a game that holds a super special place in my heart)

I just wanna add a new one to my list which is kingdom come deliverance

Hollow Knight's pretty comfy, the aesthetic of the whole game is nice (City Of Tears, bless) and the music is jump mmm.

Best ost in the game btw.
But the boss battles can be a bit frantic, especially stuff like the mantis lords, you can get used to it and breeze through the game pretty easily, though.

some aspects of black desert online are comfy. but definitely not the p2win-y aspects of it

Dark souls is really comfy to me. I have played the games in this series so much that I do not have to really think about it when I am playing. I can daydream for some time and still be on track in the game.

LISA, comfy yet good game.

Night in the woods is veryy comfy. Dont mistake it for a furry game though, its actually good. It hits too close to home with alot of us robots. Anxiety and all.

Secret World Legends

It's f2p and if you are into /x/ stuff

Euro Truck Driver
Animal Crossing
Civ V

Reinstalling Windows soon. Once I do I'm hoping to work my way through a shitload of games I've bought on Steam over the years and maybe some classics I never go to experience like Animal Crossing via emulation.

Journey used to be the game i'd play right after work. The aesthetic and musics really put me in a comfy mood
