You can train specifically to nail a lot of reps in that weight range. Some football guy was explaining it to me the other day. Also, they do fast, bouncing reps when they do this if I'm not mistaken.

No, pretty much your whole body is lying on the bench, besides maybe 2/3ds of the legs, so its' more like ~150lifting 225lbs.

This is also why the bench is easier when you bring your feet onto the bench .

Half reps. Btw, I weigh probably 10 more pound than he does and I can eek out 15 reps at 225. The last 5 reps are slow as fuck but manageable.

Size also isn't something that shows very well on a guy of his height nor does he need much size to play that position. Positionally he needs to be training his ability to jump to get the ball over defenders, speed to get off the line and past defenders, and his ability to cut and change directions for routes. The guys with the most size are on the line and they aren't all that lean but, they are strong.

That's the equivalent of a 3 pl8 bench, that's 4-5 years of training if including average genetics and no roids (and you eat yourself above 20% bf).
