Why is finding work so impossible? Every place I apply, it's like, "nope, we are considering other candidates, sorry!!"

What the fuck, Jow Forums? How does anybody find work with odds this fucking low??

I can't even apply to fast food joints because my education is too high. What is this fucking bullshit??

Nobody wants good workers, they want the best workers even if their judgement is based entirely on first impressions.
If the memes are right and we're living in an aging society the job market will run out of candidates and should open up soon enough.

No, they want the cheapest workers. Ones who are willing to bust their ass for pocket change. Usually these will be zoomers desperate for any kind of work, illegals, or bored retirees.

Now I know for a fact that's not true. I've offered my services for free to several organizations and still am doing jack shit with my time.

friendly reminder that these same places complain to the media about "not having any qualified candidates"

despite only 2/3 of men working there is a labor shortage

You're using public methods. It's the same with dating.

No one actually hooks up with completely strangers and forms relationships. Normies have friends and family who hook them up with jobs and introduce them to other normies to form relationships.

In 10 years of work in 6 jobs no employer has ever seen my CV.

Nepotism is the only way to get a job

I don't think I've ever been turned down a job and I've had a good few of them.

Don't apply to big chains online through job websites and application forms, the chance of you getting the job like that is next to none.

If you're applying for a local commercial business find the operating manager's contact info and send them an email or call directly. You also want to be sure to personify your message, if you're seen as just a number on a screen you're 1000x easier for them to ignore and as a result, dismiss.

Another good way is to look for work experience openings. Lots of big businesses run these, usually, you'll "work" for a week or two without pay. The good thing about this being that businesses always use this as a hiring tool, even if they don't say it up front. Obviously, if they see someone who performs well and is a desirable employee they'll likely give you a shot at a job by the end of it.

>Normies have friends
Well I guess I'm just fucked then.

I got my job through a public method, though it was a combination of dumb luck and right place/right time. Only advice I have other than "get lucky like me" if you're looking for jobs online is to apply for the ones that have somebody's work email to send resumes to instead of automated bullshit that ends up in some HR box that nobody checks. That's what grabbed my attention for the job I ended up getting.

A manager made a post on my school's hiring website that connects employers with students and grads. At the bottom he said "If you're interested please send your resume to (his work email)." I was tired of automated applications that never got replies so this intrigued me. I sent him my resume and about an hour later I got a reply from him. The next day we had a phone interview that was planned for only 30 minutes but it ended up lasting 90 minutes because I found out we shared an autistic hobby so we talked about that a lot. I had to go through a couple more phone interviews with different managers afterwards and they went well too. Somehow avoided spilling my spaghetti in all of them. A month later I was starting my really good office job and earning substantially more than most people my age.

Holy shit. The meme about women being super picky about who they date and not caring at all about their own qualities is true, but for companies looking for workers.

>Why are there no good men out there????

>Why can't I find an employee who is willing to work as hard as if he was the owner, and enthusiastically accept unpaid overtime???

Congrats on literally typing out the worst advice I've ever seen. Nobody listen to this dumbass, this shit is ass backwards unless you live in literal cousin fucking country and want a dead end retail job.

Sadly, the ONLY way you're going to get a decent job is through online applicants, attempting to apply at reputable employers will result in Hiring personnel either dismissing your call or redirecting you to their online application page. What you SHOULD do is make sure you have a good resume, a cover letter is nice and helps but what's most important is that your resume has all your contact info in a nice big font at the top, adequately and succinctly lists all your prior experiences/personal capabilities and your references. You can find some really good word templates online, if you're too poor to afford word just download open office the formats are transferrable.

>t. currently make 40 dollars an hour with no college education.

More like
>Why can't I find employees who blindly follow commands from on high without questioning the purpose or motivation behind the order???

This this this
Your only way in is from within

Jesus christ you guys literally have never worked a day in your life have you? A lot of companies have instituted anti-nepotism policies, and while it's true that for higher up positions places tend to hire from the current pool of employees it doesn't mean that it's impossible to get in unless your dad is literally blowing the manager. Get over yourselves and write a good resume and throw out some applications.

A warehouse will hire literally anyone. Stop fearing physical labor. The only thing you need for UPS is to be over the age of 18 and the ability to lift 70+ pounds. They understand that you probably won't be there long so they don't really care if you want to make UPS your career or not.

>you guys literally have never worked a day in your life
I haven't. Can you tell me how those anti-nepotism policies work?

>D-damn companies only hiring people their best friends sons for a minimum wage fruit stocking job! Nepotism at it's finest!!!! :(((

You're a literal idiot, it's not nepotism that's keeping you from getting a job it's that you don't know how to write a resume, don't fill out enough applications, or have zero interpersonal skills.

I've had six jobs, half of them retail and half in my field. I've been unemployed for the past few months and have been through only 2 interviews, despite putting out over 60 applications from retail to jobs in my field. Both of those interviews were only because I got a referral from someone that worked there and a link from a recruiter that helped my friend. Even my friend was unemployed for 4 months before his dad put in a word for him at Autozone, then he got his current office job because his old work buddy set him up with a recruiter that set him up with an interview. Noticing a link here? I'm sorry but I live in the real world where networking and nepotism is the way things are, you either play the game or hope your luck will land you something good enough. For me I'm actually trying both methods because I want a fucking job but experience and time is showing me my efforts are best spent communicating with people that can get me a direct link to a job.

Do you have some sort of mental problem or something? I literally only asked how the anti-nepotism policies work, because I'm curious to know, and you decide to autistically screech at me for no reason. I have literally never tried applying for work.

My apologies but the way you phrased it made it sound sarcastic. But anti-nepotism policies essentially prohibit interpersonal office relationships from affecting the hiring processes for certain jobs, especially those in lower/upper management. This is why it's usually best to apply to larger chains instead of small businesses where nepotism is the only way you're ever going to get in. I've worked over 20 jobs and while I did get a few of them through connections, the ones I got through those connections only ever lasted a few months before I realized the correlation; jobs based off of your relation to the employer have little to no longevity and a limited ceiling for growth. You're much better off learning a trade, getting some skill of anykind or getting a no experience required job that will provide you with relevant training for other jobs as well. My job pays me 40 dollars an hour, 2 paid weeks for christmas, 3 paid days for thanksgiving, 2 weeks of paid thanksgiving a year, and double time on the weekends. I was literally told by the hiring manager that the reason I got it was because out of all the other applicants my resume had the most relevant information, meaning your resume must be tailored for the job you are applying to. Aerospace machining companies don't give a fuck about how fast you could stock shelves at walmart.

2 weeks of paid vacation* sorry that was an autistic typo.

As a matter of fact, with all the voluntary overtime I work for the hell of it I make well over 100k a year. It's hard work but it's well worth it with a matched 401k that puts me at an early retirement at around 45 years old.

I have been looking for a job in my field for about 2 years now and have always thought of the "email the head of the company directly!" path as something that could VERY easily come off as autistic or annoying. I am incredibly afraid of this especially since word can get around. I don't want to be known as the 'desperate guy who will definitely find your contact info somehow and show you his resume.'

Although, I'm not going to lie, I may start doing it because I've gotten only 1 phone interview in my nearly 100 applications and the person I interviewed with didn't even look at my resume. This shit sucks I wanna make REAL money even if my soul gets crushed

The worst they can do is say no or ignore your resume. You won't get a reputation because management has better things to do than bitch to managers at other companies about how that faggot user emailed him. If they aren't interested or aren't hiring they will just delete the email and go on with their day, not obsess over it.

Iie on your resume everyone does it

>he thinks boomers are going to die
Foolish goyim, we're on the verge of transhumanism. All of your CEO positions now belong to us.

The fact of the matter is, if you're going for any sort of competitive position there are going to be hundreds of other applicants, many of whom will have similar if not better CVs to you and that's inevitable. Sending your CV through an automated application form is going to result in it being unread at the bottom of some HR inbox 9 times out of 10 and you're delusional if you think otherwise.

A few years ago there was a high-end designer clothing store that opened up in my town. I needed a part-time job and had experience with some basic web management/social media marketing type stuff. Ended up ringing the store manager and got a job there the next week doing exactly that at a very good wage too for what I was doing.

the job "market" is like the dating/meat market

you have to provide everything and MORE to be even be close to being eligible...

yepppers

my high school quebecois ex has a Government of Canada job that pays at least 75k. That's 57000 in real money (USD). She's 25, with a soft humanities degree from a shit school. Surprise surprise both her parents work for the gobernment also, put her in french immersion since elementary, nice little internship at the privy council, grooming her since the start

I can't be too mad since I was nepotismed into a "real" work from home IT job, but the pay is much lower and the stress is much higher and the hours much longer. At least I get to drink and no one sees me, listen to shit anime music and jack off whenever I feel like it.

And this is in a "first world country" too lmao

Anyways, back to work...

Who is best to contact then?

I don't want to email the [email protected] email that they usually have on their website. I also feel like I should probably not contact anyone at HR. What if I cannot find the operations manager contact info? Who is the 2nd best person to contact you think?

do a bit of research on linkedin and such.

will also demonstrate you are interested in their operation.

>A lot of companies have instituted anti-nepotism policies

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHA

Would it be an alright idea to message people directly through linkedin? or is the best solution always to find a personal/business email and email them?

don't contact people outside of your league

Then don't complain about how there are no qualified candidates on the market.
