Any tips for digging oneself out of homelessness and having a productive life? Might be kicked out soon. I don't want to resort to Sudoku.

Why are you getting kicked out user? But step 1 is get a job if you don't already have one, even if it's just a shitty one temporarily
I have been homeless before and can help you, but I have some questions. How old are you? Do you have a car? Do you live in the U.S.A.?
Try getting into prison
Hey a job
I have some jobs lined up - interviewed and waiting for background/drug testings and results. Senpai I am staying with just don't like me being arond.
Early 20s. No. Yes.
Hopefully won't come to that.
See top reply.
*the f@mily I am staying with don't want me staying around for much longer
I'm homeless and thinking about it; could join gang then live the good life when I get out.
Ok. Not having a car sucks, but at least you are in your early 20s and living in the USA. That opens up a lot of options. Go online and search for "your state youth shelters" and you should find tons of shelters that go up to around 26 years old.
I was homeless way after the age limit but I found out about youth shelters from the homeless kids I kicked it with. I traveled a fair bit while homeless and every major city and even a bunch of minor ones I went to had youth shelters.
Typically you sign up on a list at check in time like 8pm or so and then at like 8:30 they say who did and didn't make it into shelter (if they're full). And if you have a job they'll let you come later, and they also typically have a program where if you have a job you get a guaranteed spot in shelter every night.
Then they kick you out at like 8 in the morning.
Getting into one of these shelters should be your top priority. You will get assigned a case manager and they will do everything from getting you foodstamps and health insurance to helping you apply for housing. Typically they have a "need" scale. Like they'll ask you questions about if you have any savings or like if your parents are alive and this and that and they calculate how much you need housing and then they apply you. So if you have any kind of disability even a mental one like depression, you can go pretty high on the list and get sweet subsidized housing really fast.
Your caseworker will help you connect with local services. Like when I was homeless I was in WA and I got the HEN program which pays your rent for 12 months if you have a "temporary" disability. That's how I got off the streets.
There are also things called "feeds" where churches or other community organizations have a free meal that's open to the public. They usually occur the same night every month or every week. If you start staying in a shelter you'll learn about them.
family filters to senpai?
To add to this stay away from drugs! If you end up on the streets you are going to encounter it. Just politely decline and leave. Weed is ok, but heroin, meth, don't do any of that shit or you're dead.
ty for the advice. Hopefully I don't get kicked to the curb before I start work, in which case I would be able to get some cheap digs of my own. Why were you homeless?
I suffer from schizoaffective disorder. Before I turned 25 I had never had an episode so I had no idea. When I turned 25 I had my first psychotic episode which lasted 3 years. I ended up on the streets for the last year and two months of it. I had been couch surfing and even managing to hold jobs despite being almost completely insane. And then I ended up in this crazy commune where everyone was also in psychosis. And the one guy said that I was being followed by a demon and all this crazy shit. I eventually went totally insane and defaced a wall and the cops got involved and I was thrown out.
If you want to hear more about my totally insane homeless adventures I can link you a thread on the archive where I greentexted them
Link me. I will read it.

You can tell who is me because I say I'm going to greentext my homeless life and then do.
Do you still suffer from schizophrenic episodes?
I've been off the streets and medicated for 2 years and 4 months and in that time I have not had a full episode again. At one point when I was comfortable at a place I was staying I stopped taking my meds for a month and two weeks and then I had to leave and it was really shitty and I almost didn't have another place to go but at the last minute I found one. And so when I moved I was really stressed and didn't sleep a lot the first 3 days and then I started hearing voices again. The greek gods, who I used to talk to all the time when I was crazy were among the voices and they urged me to take my meds and make it go away which is what I did. I started taking the full dose of my meds (I'm usually on a half dose) and in 3 days it all went away. Other than that I've been on meds and haven't had any issues.
I'm super curious about your experience with voices. I work at a mental health clinic doing intakes, often with bipolar / schizoaffective folks, and I'm just super curious about what it's like to hear and see things. Do you hear it inside or outside your head. Did you ever let other folks know about what they were saying? Did they ever say nice things? For most folks I see, the voices have a lot of negative self-talk. Sorry, I don't mean to be intrusive, just curious..
I just finished your green and it's pretty nutty to say the least. So, you got NEETbux and lived happily ever after? What do you do day-to-day?
Hallucinations very in degree. For a long time I would only hear/see "signs" I would hear an ordinary sound or see an ordinary thing and then interpret it in my head to mean something completely meaningful and crazy. I did this with every little stimulus. It eventually morphed into full on hearing voices in my head and even seeing and hearing people that weren't there. I talked with all kinds of entities and you will find that most non corporeal entities are malevolent and hostile. However, the human dead, and the greek gods, are great to talk to and I had many happy conversations with them. I learned many things from the greek gods and got tons of positive input.
>you got NEETbux and lived happily ever after
Yeap. I am super comfy in my room that I rent and I smoke weed everyday and surf the internet and go out and wander the city when I get bored or feel cooped up. I live in Seattle so it's easy to find entertainment when I'm bored
If you're desperate join a temple or sangha.
