I did this except streaming on twitch and I streamed for a couple of months at 0 viewers. Don't really understand how to get more viewers. I used to stream before twitch on ustream and would get a decent amount around 30 or so people watching me play games like lsd emulator.
Should I get a web cam and mic? It seems like all of the more popular streamers have a webcam and a good mic

From what I've heard it's all about staying consistent. Most of the big streamers I watch have said that it took them months to start getting past 0-5 viewers.

You should have a mic. Idk about webcam as I tend to avoid streamers that put their big ugly face on top of the game im trying to watch but if you feel comfortable doing that go ahead. Twitch doesn't really have a good way for people to get organic traffic. Playing lesser known games puts you at the bottom of a very long list of games with next to no viewers. You'd have to basically make youtube videos to advertise your stream or something similar. You definitely need an external source of marketing to be successful on twitch.

The thing is most places its against the rules to post links to your twitch like on plebbit subreddits will remove your post I'm not sure about Jow Forums but I know its how vinesauce got popular.

No, once he has your IP he might be able to find your households name, thus doing some social engineering or smart googling and finding your youtube channel if it's linked to your actual real name. Not that hard and happens sometimes on small servers. Like that's why you have to be careful of those minecraft servers that get spammed on Jow Forums. They can take your account token, which is not a big deal but some people are so retarded they use their minecraft username for other accounts on the internet and it just gets really easy to find stuff.

I think those are bots I have a few followers that randomly followed me but never watched my stream. I've had maybe one or two people talk in my chat. There is this weird bot that will join your chat and hosts a channel with a bunch of people spamming asking for their channel to be raided

i just make really stupid shitposts. it used to be a bunch of people from this website and some people from twitter that would subscribe to me, but now it's gotten too big and i think most of my subscribers are just redditors.
