I've met more men than women who are into it beyond meme "read horoscope" level.

they have no hobbies so they embrace whatever comes first

astrology is a thing because they saw other women doing the same at a tender age

they will completely forget when they meet chad. chad's cock becomes their new focus

same reason why people from this shithole believe mbti

My mother unironically believes in this shit, and channeling ghosts and shit. It's actually confusing. I can't get into someone's head space who can think like this.

irrationality is viewed as feminine and therefor attractive

your mom is based user
t. male interested in all this stuff

because the stars actually exist and could theoretically have some effect on us, but God doesn't and that pisses guys off.

Idk, I was skeptical for most of my life but in the past few years Ive gotten more into it (and other new-age-y beliefs).

My mom taught me about astrology but she doesn't believe it's real. She thinks it's stupid that people born on the same date would have a similar life or personality or that the stars and planets would control events on the earth.

I believe in psychics but my parents think they aren't real.

This. My mother loves divination but gave me her Crowley deck because she said it was giving her "bad vibes". I don't really believe in that stuff but it has cool art and I used it in a D&D session for a Deck of Many Things. Also, she's completely obsessed with Norse mythology at the moment and for my entire life has hated America and Christianity with a passion - even encouraging me to watch anime and European/Russian animation over American cartoons as a kid because she thought almost anything from American media was mental poison.

Also, she legit believes in fairies and a shitload of other folklore spirits.

Someone should really merge this astrology thing of women with something else, like astronomy. It might be interesting to see them take a legitimate interest in celestial bodies like stars and solar systems and ascribing a spiritual meaning to each one. Might as well help get the naming out of the way if we actually manage to colonize another planet before the scum of the earth drags us down here forever with sub-80 IQs. I'd prefer to live in a system named for an ancient god or angel or saint than one called An-487-b or some shit, wouldn't you?
If the latter happens, maybe it'll make for a good religion among the scattered tribes of nu-earth. At least it'll be living proof that we once were great if any aliens drop by. People who were always rampaging savages wouldn't have any knowledge of other star systems and their workings, would they? It might serve as a good warning to them if they can interpret it. No matter how advanced you are, the brainlets will find a way to drag you to their level. All you can do is try to anticipate it and intercept these attempts preemptively.

Your parents are much smarter than you.

My mom mostly had on shows from the 50s or 60s every night and early morning. We wouldn't watch much else together except for the local news and family shows like Touched by an Angel. I was far more used to I Love Lucy or the Munsters than Will and Grace or Ally McBeal.

They already do naming like that, but only for stuff that becomes significant. We don't need fancy names for every star when doing so will use up all the good names.

I find this cute for some reason.

Except the psychic knew things before I found out like my neck problems or specific allergies I had.

because they want to talk about their vaginas and hear about their feelings. Women lust after shit that explain them how to feel. That's why they like strong men.

Also it just showes us why Males are reaching for the stars through astronomy, while women want to hear from their stars how their pussy smells today

>tfw no new age vegan manic pixie dream girl that encourages me to abandon cynicism and embrace an unironic compassion for all living beings

>what is cold reading

it's like pre-internet mbti

you would kill yourself before the first day passed, no joke

Would you date a girl on a vegetarian sugar free diet because she wants rapid weight loss?

Eh, just slap a number on the end. Although I suppose only naming habitable systems would be good for that. It is quite a waste to name a system after a notable individual only for it to be a system of gas giants and barren rocks orbiting a star emitting deadly radiation.

I think with the decline of Religion, people are looking to other things in desperation. Accepting the uncaring nature of the universe and the human condition is not a very pleasant thing.

How would she know things that specific from a cold reading? I agree some psychics are fake though. One just told me generic stuff like I'd live in a brick house, take vacations and have an animal as a pet.

I doubt it because I briefly orbited a few girls exactly like this and they were legitimately nice people.

Better than nothing but I prefer people with principles. Honestly though, if you are a girl I'm really not interested because I live in a rural community outside America and I doubt you're near me.
