It’s now considered a hormone because of how important it is
TYVD
Most important nutrient to worry about
Better to get it from meat than pills tho
explain? What if I live in a sunny area
No, it isn't.
i take 10,000+ iu's daily cuz my waifu rhonda told me to
Very fucking important. Raises your test considerably. 1000 iu is pussy shit though, I'm on 10,000 while spending a lot of time in the sun
imagine what her asshole tastes like
Why would you listen to advice given out by this clearly jewish women?
Have you noticed anything since you’ve been taking more?
not him but my mood has noticeably increased and im sharper
it's definitely a hormone
placebo
imagine megadosing vitamins because of memes
They say to get your daily requirement you would have to be naked in Florida level sun for a half hour every day.
Not an argument
>Megadose
Nice meme
ncbi.nlm.nih.gov
You need 8k IU minimum a day
I am in Miami. I'm not naked, but i'm out in the sun for at least an hour a day.
if your dark skinned maybe. Fair skinned people do have to worry about vit D deficiency, especially in a sunny places like Florida. Just skin cancer.
>Undeniably, further studies are needed to clarify the optimal supplementation of vitamin D
literally in the conclusion
>Unfortunately, medicine took a very long time to realize that vitamin D is not simply a vitamin that prevents rickets. For that purpose, 400-600 IU/d may be enough. However, we know today that vitamin D is a powerful nuclear receptor-activating hormone of critical importance, especially to the immune system.
>With the available data mentioned above, the proposed doses would probably suffice to maintain vitamin D levels around or over 75-100 nmol/L, with practically zero risk of toxicity
>ZERO RISK OF TOXICITY.
Literally in the conclusion.
Also
>A fucking meta analysis says that further studies are needed.
What a fucking surprise dude. You're too stupid to even exist. Did you pass high school level science? It undeniably says 5k+ IU are needed if you want levels above 75.
got mildly tired after taking 5k IU. Took 10k IU one day and started falling asleep at work. no more for me.
low T
is that true? I wasn't shitting on D3, I've heard good things about it. It just made me extremely tired after taking it.
how long did you take it?
>all of this is good because reasons
>muh science
keep taking 10k a day for a few years, let's see what happens to you. do you honestly believe these scientists themselves are stupid enough to eat that much vit d daily? i bet you're one of these fags that screams 'carbs are poison'. Vit D is just another meme, retard.
you are so stupid, you damage everyone who comes contact with you. please point an airsoft gun at a cop.
>muh science says it's okay introduce huge amounts of a vitamin into your system orally even though these high of doses have hardly been consumed throughout history
vit D is god tier
idk if it was placebo but i took 10k IU a day and also sat in the sun heaps, did cardio etc
i lost heaps of fat yet had so much natural energy every day I genuinely cut down on how many coffees i had from 5 to 2
>don't listen to scientists
>listen to me instead
>an irritating anonymous shitposter
Can’t you reverse that logic and guess that since our ancestors probably got way more sun than we usually do that the average person is likely highly vitamin D deficient?
Not long. maybe a week at most
Bro, stop
Vitamin D is literally the most crucial micro-nutrient for optimized test production, I think Zinc comes in a faraway second.
I'm not saying vit d is bad, im saying don't assume eating 10k IU daily for a long time is safe. these scientists literally just measured people's blood concentrations and came to a conclusion. this doesn't mean meant the things they say are now the norm or that a doctor will tell his patients to eat 10k IU a day.
sure we can assume that. but we can't make any conclusive statements about how much sunlight any given group of people got and how much vit d was created. there's no way to measure it.
based miami bro
Imagine being this retarded lmao
this nigga is gonna look likea corn husk doll by the time he's 40.
It's considered a hormone because your body can produce it endogenously
vitamins can be both fat soluble and water soluble. All of the B vitamins are water soluble and will be excreted if there's excess. This means there's little risk of overdose, and maybe why we see mega doses of B vitamins in /sips/ and the like. A, D, E, and K are all fat soluble, meaning your body naturally keeps a store of them in your liver / fat. As posted above, the UL of vitamin D is 4,000 IU/day. Vitamin D toxicity almost always occurs from overuse of supplements.
Make sure to supplement with vit k aswell
Vitamin D *FROM THE SUN* is healthy because it not only contains UV rays but also all the other rays, plus gives you the full spectrum of vitamin D.
SUPPLEMENTS are NOT HEALTHY, they are a marketing scam that causes damage to your body by taking giving your body fake vitamin D, screws you up hormonally.
It takes 50,000 IU of Vit D to cause toxicity. Sure, less over a long period of time will not be great, but I'm sure
i haven't saved any brainlet memes, but if i did i would use one now.
Do your own research. Research is coming out that Vitamin A (beta carotene) supplementation is harmful to ingest because it displaces Vitamin A receptors and ONLY allows beta carotene to connect, disregarding other forms of Vitamin A leading to harmful effects. I assume it's the same thing with Vitamin D supplementation. Only time will tell
>do your own research
>i'm just going to assume my complete conjecture is correct
we already know there's different forms of micronutrients. your other post was just fear mongering and pseudoscience. vitamin d doesn't even come from the sun.
Megadosing
Handfull a day
probably dosn't do shit even if you dont get enough sun. I still take my 5000ui daily though
>The production of vitamin D3 from sun exposure vs. oral supplementation has been evaluated in several studies. Data from Australian and New Zealand31 has demonstrated that whole body exposure of mid-day sun in summer for 10–15 min is comparable to taking 15 000 IU of vitamin D3 orally.
I had mine tested and the levels was shit. It was like 23 and the bottom should be 30, optimally very high, with the upper limit being 100. It's been a week since I started supplementing 4000 IU/day, In 2 months I will take tests again to see how it's coming along.
>SUPPLEMENTS are NOT HEALTHY
the sun at my altitude can literally not produce vitamin D for 2/3rds of the year
Interesting podcast
about sleep deprivation and vitamin D3 and Bvitamin correlation
Will watch later. I got redpilled on the subject by Stan Efferding initially. Duffin has some great content too.
Probably like fish oil. She takes like 6 g/day
i take the Now foods 5000 iu's daily with vitamin k2. I get horny as fuck when i do this and basically end up sexting very obese 40 year old cougars telling them i want to breed them and shit. It gets fucking awkward
Lol learn to not be a retard and you might get some pussy.
no nigger its called working a desk job in a country where the sun seldom shines
Vitamin D3 is a group of secosteroids, you illiterate sub-1300 totaling genetic waste.
Vitamin D isnt a meme, youd know this if you lived up in the arctic circle where you get 0 sunlight for half the year
This is some old, old shit, user.
>ZERO RISK OF TOXICITY
And yet there have been cases of toddlers getting ill due to oversupplementation in their food.
>ITT nerdics coping
From uni (for nutrition):
>D3 is best form of supplement
>Its a prohormone (precursor) that is synthesized on the skin using sunlight
>Don't remember the exact timezones but anywhere with adequate sunlight exposure should get you about 1000IU (units) of D per 15-30minutes if you have your arms and face exposed
>15-30minutes is about all you need to meet the daily requirement
>Most evidence regarding D and mood changes is in early stages and limited
>Most studies evaluating D SUPPLEMENTS (not sun exposure) take place at 4000+IU doses, so don't expect to cure depression with a 1000iu pill
>Sunlight D may be absorbed differently and have different effects than supplements
>D helps you absorb more calcium if taken at the same time, so take your D pill with milk or fortified juice
>It's fat soluble, so there is a toxicity at 10,000+IU
>It's fat soluble, so it's better absorbed in the presence of fat (again, milk)
Hope this helps senpai, I could be remembering some stuff wrong tho
>It's fat soluble, so there is a toxicity at 10,000+IU
what are you smoking?
funniest shit ive read all week
Even if you're white, deficiency is widespread.
Fat soluble vitamins are not excreted as readily as water soluble (which can be easily excreted through urin and sweat) and instead are stored in fat, which allows for more accumulation. This is why water soluble vitamins often aren't recognized as being toxic unless you take massive doses. Fat soluble ones (A,D,E,K) can build up to toxic levels easier. For example, A is stored in fat including around the liver, where it can accumulate and essentially poison you.
I believe the upper limit of intake for D is 10,000iu, where levels above this is where toxicity can begin
To be clear, I did not intend to promote the idea that all fat soluble vitamins automatically have toxity at the same level
