whats a respectable weight on single leg weighted hip thrusts
Whats a respectable weight on single leg weighted hip thrusts
How much do you weigh?
NaN since the exercise is retarded since it's nearly impossible to isolated a glute from another glute during hip extension.
im 168 lbs 5 feet 11
i dont get it explain
I see
what

About as much as you can do on barbell flies.

Dyel?
tell us how much you thrust then
In god i thrust
Ignore him, he's retarded. Glutes work in isolation from each other all the time, walking itself would be pretty damn dysfunctional if they always fired at the same time
>single leg weighted hip thrusts
Fucking why. A standard weighted hip thrust is more than sufficient as a core exercise. As far as the weight goes, minimum 25lbs each side until you can understand positioning and form of the exercise. Then bump yourself up to 1pl8, which is still quite easy to do as you're involving most of your body in the exercise; and your body when it all comes together under specific conditions is a lot stronger and capable than you think.
Get comfortable with 1pl8, then go up by 10lbs until you get to 2pl8. You could keep going, but at some point its really diminishing returns and is more an ego thing (can I do it?) versus it being actually good for you long-term.
I see
Because a lot of people like myself have glute max/med strength asymmetries and this can lead to some painful and dysfunctional pathologies from your foot to your trunk. Plus maybe they're training for a sport like sprinting or something that requires a lot of single-leg glute strength. Ya dingus.
Also pretty similar to any unilateral movement, just under half your weight for bilateral hip thrusts
I reached 1.5-2pl8 and could still do 12 reps but the point of contact started hurting a lot even through the pad and a folded body towel. Maybe my positioning was shit but I decided squats and weighted raised leg lunges would be all my ass needed
