They're a shit exercise that got popular because of ex military physical trainers because they got forced to do a bunch of stupid exercises all the time thinking they're any good.

Useless for most people, good for fatties to cut weight who don’t want to do a lot of cardio/lift. Basically just intense jumping jacks. Won’t take you fat but if you’re over 20% bodyfat adding them to your routine can help burn more fat.

I weighted 63kg last year and I did these from time to time, other than that I didn't exercise at all and I lost 7 fucking kg. My cardio is still shit though, but I blame lack of regularity and not enough explosive

they are definitely valid as a cardio exercise. i personally have a huge problem with them because i get a headache when i move back and forth quickly from horizontal to vertical. anyone know how to fix this?
