NoShampoo is really a no-brainer. Hair texture gets so much better, hair styles more easily, looks thicker, sheds less. I can't imagine ever going back to shampoo.

You don't need to use nearly as much shampoo as you think, and you might not need it at all.

Do you know how lip vaseline or earwax works? You use it once for some relief so your lips don't get dry or you clean your ears to get rid of wax, that's not THAT bad by itself, but after forming an habit your body adapts to it, since you are constantly covering your lips it stops taking care of their hydration as it should, making it so they get dry way easier, or you remove wax from your ears so your body responds by making more.

It's the same with oils and your hair, shampoo is 99% of the time too aggressive and your body responds by producing way more oils than it should in response to it.

If you don't wash your hair for a week it's probably going to look like an oily mess since you are so used to it, but if you slowly downsize the frequency with which you use shampoo you will find you don't need nearly as much as you think.

Look into "nopoo", even if I loathe that name it should yield relevant info.
