OP I kinda relate because my dad is also all about annoying banter but I realized his actions show that he cares deeply but is unable to express his emotions openly and I don't take it personally anymore. I don't think that calisthenics is bad but gym is more optimal for gains and seems like your dad wants to motivate you to get stronger and workout with him. I think the alpha move would be to take the challenge and tell him to just watch how you'll outlift him instead of sulking. You're shorter so you're gonna get big relatively fast, calisthenics gave you a good base and if you have low bf% you'll also be aesthetic and can reply to your dad's banter that you're at least not a fat fuck. I used to be annoyed too by the way in which my dad speaks to me but actually realized that doing what he asked for will actually get me good results and make him happy and proud.
