My experience with bruxism for 4 years

Seeing discussion on Jow Forums over mewing, bruxism and its effect on the jawline I decided to post my experience.

First of all, bruxism definitely makes your jawline more define, I am evidence of it. I have an issue where I only clench my teeth on the left side of my mouth, and it's quite noticeable that the right side of my mouth is roundish, while the left side of my mouth is quite squareish and well defined.

On the other hand, the squareish definition is not too noticeable. It's noticeable if I tell you and you pay attention to it, but it's not a big deal, and I've been a bruxer for 5+ years.

What I know of it so far is that, assuming it's not stress, or drugs, it's a mix of breathing problems (sleep apnea) and perhaps night time acid reflux (google acidification + bruxism)

This is totally undesirable ofc, and not worth any squareing of the jawline because

>sleep bruxism as a result to poor sleep fucks with gains
>fucks with your teeth
>means your stomach is fucked, likely not digesting food properly

If you do a slight google on acidification + bruxism, you'll see the pictures of the teeth of all the people who has this terrible combination of OSA, GERD and bruxism, and in the end, who cares about your jaw if your smile will scare even satan.

I've been struggling hard on this fight, but if researchers say that esophageal acidification is a cause for bruxism, I do not know how to stop this if it happens in the middle of the night, unless I wake up to do something about it, which defeats the purpose of having a good sleep.

I might try mewing and see what happens.

>the absolute cope
dude girls can smell your subpar DNA 10 miles against the wind why do you bother with retarded shit like this? its like putting lipstick on a pig m8 just accept your lot in life

A thread for me!

>dentist notes that my teeth are far more grinder down than they should be for my age
>asks if I have a lot of stress
>n-no
>fast forward a year, get tooth pains and go to dentist
>dentist casually remarks that it's gotten worse, nothing to worry about yet but asks if I'm under a lot of stress
>answer n-no again

She can tell I'm sure at least she doesn't press the issue.

w/e dude, god said theres a place in heaven for pure hearted ppl like me ;)

Yo lads unrelated but I've been waiting for this qt for about half an hour. She's a solid 8 and imma bang her senseless but I need to vent. Sat by the bus stop right now. Colombian and Brazilian chicks are annoying as fuck

That's a big problem because bruxism is not well understood.

Like, it's not understood almost at all, and you need to solve that because bruxism can cause malocclusion. So the longer you wait, the more your teeth gets fucked, you may develop an overbite, and it could cost you thousands of dollars to fix the mess.

You should look into a sleep study and analyze your stomach, as night time reflux is symptomless, which is why it fucks people so much.

I didn't know gerd was symptomless, acid coming up should at the very least disturb your sleep.

Night time is symptomless, but if you eat too much before going to sleep, or if you get old enough you can definitely wake up from it.

The connection between that and sleep apnea is currently being studied, but apparently one usually goes with the other (acid reflux + poor breathing)

Just wait till the devastating headaches and effects on your jaw joints kick in

It's not as bad as it used to be due to my constant research and trial and error.

It got much better after I went after my stomach issues, nowadays I only occasionally brux my teeth, and some days I don't clench at all, but I'm trying to figure it all out still.

Betaine HCL + probiotics seems to be helping a lot, but still not sure of the silver bullet yet.

Bruxism was just another problem I had that was accidentally solved be going gluten and grain free. Whether it would be the same for you is up for experimentation.

> bruxism definitely makes your jawline more define

no it does not. losing weight could make that illusion.

>means your stomach is fucked, likely not digesting food properly

stomach is not fucked, it is your unnatural diet.

>fucks with your teeth
well, sure.

> breathing problems (sleep apnea)

most common causes Obstructive sleep apnea are overweight and diet (allergies that block your nasal passages). if you cant breathe thru your nose mouth shut all night long you have likely an allergy problem

Fuck a mate of mine has bruxism, and everything that OP has said explains a lot of things.

He
>abuses weed, smokes everday and everynight
>will substitute it for alcohol when he cant get weed (became alcohol during 4 months in the US)
>has told me that he grinds his teeth
>has terrible time falling asleep
>takes acid reflux and heartburn pills

OP you seem to know a bit of this stuff i want to help my mate. I think its a psychological thing, some event that is triggering depression, etc but could or is this a psychical aliment ?

>putting lipstick on a pig

That seems to work for 80% of the females out there

How to improve my jawline besides loosing fat?I should loose 10-15kg by the way

Its bone. Im suffering the same plight. You cant change your bones, they have grown and finished growing. The best you can do is maintain low bodyfat to look as defined as you can

Shit finally a thread i can relate too. If i eat too much garlic, meat, onions , tomatoes and coffe for a few days i get acid reflux and lately i've been dealing with bruxism and i noticed its def stress
The dentist wanted to sell me like a mouth/teeth silicon plate for my teeth but i didnt want to because it wouldnt stop bruxism and just make it not damage my teeth

Hello anons, will mewing help define my chin/jaw? I've been a mouth-breather in childhood and I have a naturally small head so I have a small chin and jaw. Will mewing help or should I just go for implants? I'm in my early 20s

Implants, you'll want implants. You see the ideal male chin projection is when the chin lays 2-3 mm behind a line dropped straight down from the middle of your lower lip.

You therefore have a recessed chin, and should look into custom chin implants, depending if you are insecure or not about it. Judging by your maxilla you are East Asian?

Eitherway don't kill yourself, just focus on yourself until you do plastic surgery. Possibly look into if you have an overbite, and what class bite you have, it seems judging from your lips that you don't have a class 1 bite, which means might need actual surgery. Do you have sleep apnea? Eitherway look around on the internet. Peace.

>You see the ideal male chin projection is when the chin lays 2-3 mm behind a line dropped straight down from the middle of your lower lip.
I thought the ideal was when it was equal to or farther out than the line.

I agree with you but the medical community does not, I think it should be equal to the line, personally.

You know damn well that's not a side profile, you retard

whats a natural diet by your definition? meat, fruit and veggies?

There's also layrngopharyngeal reflux, aka silent reflux, which usually lacks the more obvious signs of 'my goodness, fucking burning acid is shooting up out of my gut.'

t. spent too much money on specialists before they figured it out

jesus

I am East Asian. I will look into chin implants, thanks!
