5'4 and 5'9 are basically the same, really. All people see is you are below the normal size for a healthy adult man, more akin to that of a child or woman. In the same way it doesn't matter if you're 6'0 or 6'5, you will be viewed as an alpha purely because you're bigger than the average man.
You ever notice how 6'0+ dudes always get people inflating their height and adding 2-3 inches added to their height? As somebody who is 6'3, I've been guessed as tall as 6'7 before. Meanwhile, 5'10 guys are more likely to have people detract from their height, call them small etc. If you look at middle height celebrities like Stalone, he ets described as 5'6 quite often when in reality he was 5'9-5'10 at his peak. If you're smaller than the standard, you are short. If you are bigger, you are tall. Doesn't matter how far either side you fall, if you are 1cm below 5'11 (average) you will be seen as short, 1cm above, tall. Life really is that black and white.
