what's a strong OHP in relation to bodyweight? 1x bodyweight?
What's a strong OHP in relation to bodyweight? 1x bodyweight?

1x yes.
nah
i am 77kilo, ohp 51 kilo 3x5.
I'd say bodyweight for 3-5 reps.
>1x bodyweight
that's fucking pathetic, cope harder dyels
bodyweight for at least for 5 reps is considered good ohp
It’s always for 5 reps, not counting the bar
fucking manlets
Good.ohp is always 225x5 regardless of bodyweight
Anything else is cope,eat more
Why is traditional OHP such an unpopular lift?
Most people do conventional bench, squats and deads. But whenever I see someone doing OHP it's always some kind of variation. Seated, with dumbbells, using a short bar, pressing from behind the neck or doing push presses.
used to be popular but got replaced in both weightlifting and powerlifting comps
1.5 plates for at least 3-4 reps is something i would mire, anything above that is stronk
just because you are too weak to press that it doesn't mean it's a good ohp weight you fucking dyel
I don't care what bodybuilder, powerlifter, olympic lifter or some faggots her say.
Every man should aim for:
OHP 5 reps x0.75 bodyweight
Bench press 5 reps x1.25 bodyweight
Squat 5 reps x1.5 bodyweight
Deadlift 5 reps x2 bodyweight
These should be your goals. These are possible for a natty lifter.
that is true if you're a sub 200 lbs twinkmode faggot
if you are 200lbs and can't ohp 200lbs for 5 reps it means you are 200lbs of fat
no it means you arent a midget
That's a weakish OHP, i already hit that goal and i'm a DYEL
cope harder weakling
>Bench press 5 reps x1.25 bodyweight
now that's fucking COPE
it should be at least x1.5 bw if not x1.75
Ignore these idiots OP. They are counting the bar.
Every fucking time these threads get flooded with DYEL e-statting newfaggot niggers. Just go to Strength Standards or Symmetric Strength and you'll get some good numbers for your weight+height.
bw multipliers are for little midgets and females
So true, all my manlet friends pull the bodyweight cope because i mog them in absolute strength in everything.
Wait, is the real 1/2/3/4 multipliers by body weight?
the WR squat set by Ray Williams was not 3x BW, and the WR deadlift (strongman rules, straps and suit) by Hall was not even close to 4x bodyweight
yes this sounds like a very reasonable entry level strength standard
>in relation to bodyweight
this is an excuse for women who try to compete with men.
found the brainlet
Who cares what a wide receiver can squat
who the fuck cares about how many times your bw you can move, and why?
no, seriously why?
its the amount of weight you move that matters, everything else is just pure cope
>u can only press more cuz u r fatter!
and?
who gives a shit?
Im still stronger
I still move more weight
I still win
fucking manlet coping twinks
why do you aim so low lmao?
you hit those numbers after a year or two lifting
Post height
Currently at:
ohp, 5 reps, x0.6 bw
bench, 5 reps, x1 bw
squat, 5 reps, x1.25 bw
deadlift, 5 reps, x1.6 bw
Been lifting for 2 months. Aiming for those goals now but I think I can do better eventually.
tfw no thicc ogre gf
Based
glad you found yourself
>i don't care what actual lifters say
>every man should aim for the same weights as me because im weak and everyone should apply to my rules
t. stubby armed manlet
no shit your 55kg press isn't impressive
cope harder faggot, i bet you cant even press 2pl8s for 1 rep
What the fuck is wrong with you faggots? you are weak and you try to lower strength standards to yourself. Go to strengthstandards and you will see for yourself what are the standards for ohp. Just try not to cry.
i ment symmetricstrength -> strength standards
symmetricstrength.com/standards#/
I OHP 135 for 4 and im 217 6'3 lbs
not the one coping here, i can ohp my bw for reps at 6'3 with ape arms
are you seriously trying to imply that a manlet pressing 1pl8 for reps is anywhere near as impressive as a lanklet pressing >> 1.5 pl8 for reps? the leverages are completely different
You win what? At olympics you are... actually, you aren't even there, with all your fat you still didn't make it. And on the street you are just a fat pig.
Why even live, really.
Politics. It was the fucking commies.
What if lifting weights results in building muscle mass and it causes your body weight to steadily increase?
Does that mean I have to progressively lift more weight? Maybe I should aim to lift more weight as often as possible?
>manlet/lanklet
>muh leverages
>manlet pressing 1pl8 for reps
>lanklet pressing 1.5 pl8 for reps
The truth is that strength is strength. If you can push more weight than someone else you are stronger. It doesn't matter if you are heavier or lighter, the point is that you can lift more weight = you are stronger.
DL/bench/squat are popular because of PL. There's snatch and jerk in OWL. But OHP is long considered ill-suited for competition, since the proper form is hard to define. When it was used in PL people used to lean more and more backwards to utilize chest more, which is both unsafe and turns the exercise into some kind of weird standing benchpress.
You cant really X bodyweight OHP. Theres just sort of a limit for everyone around 3pl8 wether youre 5’9 175 or 6’4 300 lbs.
If you can rep 2 pl8 you’re basically set for being unmogable.
In my experience it was very hard to strict press over 255. I gotta use momentum for amounts above that
>What if lifting weights results in building muscle mass and it causes your body weight to steadily increase?
This is what the guys above do not realise. They calculate with their current weight and talk about how easy those goals are. People look at the stats in symmetricstrength.com and have unrealistic goals. If you can lift the mentioned stats you are already stronger than most people ever will be. Forget about the stats for Exceptional, Elite or World class. Nobody is going to achieve those stats while being natty and living a normal life with a job and social life. And those who try are going to injure themselves. I'm talking about the average joe. And for an average joe these should be his goals, because they are achievable and respectable. Every step further means compromising in regards to your daily life and health.
>These are possible for a natty lifter.
>pressing under 4pl8

God I want to suckle on Colleen's clit dick like a fat little piglet
It really depends on your body fat percentage and height.
I weigh 202 and am 5’11” - about 13% BF. I can do 225 for one rep, sometimes two. I found that inverted pushups were GOAT for working it up if you don’t have a cage to train for it daily. 3x8 inverted pushups at the end of chest day
1x bodyweight for me is 213lbs. Jesus fuck. I can do 135 3x5 and I thought that was decent
>OHP 5 reps x0.75 bodyweight
Given that I'm about 10lbs from this it seems a little low
I didnt say being 6’8 435 pounds for a reason.
