i eat clean, lift 5 times a week, doing good in college, yet i'm still depressed as fuck. In this society its either you're born with (((money))) and good (((genetics))) or you'll be a depressed slave your whole life.

Why the fuck would lifting a bar with weights on it fix you emotionally?

-disciplie
-healthy diet
-exercise
-purpose
-self improvement
-more confidence
-strength

all important factors that can help

The idea that lifting makes you happy is something peddled by instagram models and fitness youtubers. Being in shape will only make you happy only in the respect of you being unhealthy before, as in you were a fat fuck or a hungry skelly. Once you get past your beginner gains the euphoria of getting Jow Forums slowly ebbs away.

I try to look at being Jow Forums as a foundation for the other aspects of my life. Being healthy is an obvious first step toward optimal function and society generally admires a Jow Forums person. The idea that you need money or good genetics to not be a slave is not a new idea, it's probably right in some regards and it should make you depressed. I would go to /lit/ and check out their sticky and start making brain gains if I were you. Maybe you'll find something meaningful in the writings of more intelligent, dead chads.

Think about it like this. If you didn't lift, ate clean or weren't doing well in college, you'd feel even worse.

Push the negative feelings out of your mind. Literally just make up good feelings to feel better. Even if its trivial trash like sipping on some warm coffee or wearing a comfy sweater.

You have to keep practicing feeling good until you do. And more important, don't feel bad for allowing yourself to feel bad. Just get back on the horse and forget you messed up.

It's hard, but I guarantee you'll feel better. You can beat life, but only if you don't give in to it.

Today I picked up league of legends again after 3/4 years and I played it for most of the day. Didn’t lift, didn’t study, did nothing. The worst part is I don’t even feel bad. It was a genuinely fun time, more than I’ve had in a while with all the self-improvement bullshit taking up most of my day. I don’t even want to say I’ve lost hope about finding a girl and making (((dreams))) come true, I’ve just became numb to the lure. My heart is not in it anymore. Even if I do end up being as attractive as it gets, who cares, I’ve met dozens of girls lately and barely 5% are stomachable aesthetically, the chances of finding one that also isn’t an idiot AND is willing to look beyond the good old 5’7’’ is pretty much zero.
