Useful if you're by yourself and in a small space. That's it

I usually setup my deadlift facing the smith machine so I can stare at all the asses of the tight cardio mommies for extra gains.

I have no other option at my gym other than these. Fuck planet fitness. The only other gym within 30min of driving doesn't even have weights, only cardio machines.
Useful for keeping the retards away from the squat rack (they only have one squat rack in my gym)
Shrugs, calf raises, sometimes shoulder press if my back is sore. Using them for the big 3 makes you a massive faggot

The only thing this machine is good for is pullups. Fucking stupid piece of equipment.
Never ever fucking squat on a Smith machine. You will snap your shit.
The Smith is for calf raises and hip thrusts. And possibly some pin bench presses is you don't have a proper power cage.
I use it for behind the neck overhead pressing and JM presses

Don't listen to the retards ITT OP, I had to use an apartment gym with only a smith machine for a year and made good progression on squats, you just have to be careful your form is good otherwise you'll be leaning back on the bar and doing it all wrong. When I got back to a proper gym I just deloaded 15kg to make sure I built up any stabilisers that were missing out and carried on progressing as per usual with free weights.
