>can't OHP the bar
Can't OHP the bar
>could never bench the bar without failing
>never went back to bench because the bar gives me anxiety
Then grab a
But how
I started learning pushups and dips to make up for being in this situation. I'm now able to do like 45lb dips comfortably so screw the bench user, you can make it.
Jesus fucking Christ how can anyone not bench the fucking bar? Even a skelly 13 year old girl can bench the bar
Modern age neckbeards who've never done any physical activity for the entirety of their lives. I used to have friends who never played sports or did anything besides go to school and play video games/ watch movies and I doubt they could lift a barbell now
Mate remember the temporal aspect of lifting. Just start with dumbbells
Are you going to a gym? If so checkout all the bars, they might have some lighter ones, we have 10kg, 15kg and 20kg
Not true. When I was in 7th grade the bench press in my middle school weight room went mostly untouched because very few people could bench the bar for more than 3 reps. The average 13 year old skelly girl most likely couldn’t bench 45 pounds, and this is why 10kg training bars are a thing
Try SS+GOMAD
female? then thats ok. male? yeesh
Yeah when I started lifting at 17 I could barely do a rep with just the bar, I had literally never exercised a day in my life and I still think about what I could have been if I was active in my early teen years. Zoomers reading this don't fuck up like me
Yeah? When I started lifting at 15 I could hardly bench press the a single dumbbell, I had literally never exercised an hour in my life and I still think about what I could have been if I was active in my early pre-teen years. Young zoomers reading this don't fuck up like me
how is it even possible to be this weak?
>putin
>soviet
Use lighter dumbells user. Two 20s. Two 15s. Two 10s. Whatever you need to start at doesn't matter, we all start somewhere. Being weak at the start is fine, just don't quit because then you're actually a bitch
I have yet to see anyone OHP the bar outside of the squat rack in my gym and since I'm still a weakling it seems silly for me to OHP in the squat rack so I use barbells. The only problem is that they go up by 10lbs so I don't know how I'm going to progress by only 5lbs a workout
When OP OHPs the bar he can finally claim he OHPs 0kg
When I started going to the gym as a teen I couldn't bench the bar. Not coz it was too heavy, but because I was so fucking uncoordinated that I couldn't move both arms up at the same time.
It honestly terrifies me that parents let their children spend crucial years of physical development remaining so sedentary to the point that post puberty they have developed so little musculature they are unable to lift a mere 45 pounds above their head.
>tfw did 210x1 seated ohp today
It took me years to be able to do a single pushup, at the end of highschool I finally did it
>seated
Don’t be proud of yourself
based
unironically good job user, when you're very weak accomplishing something like that actually feels good. How many pushups can you do now?
Haven't tested my max in a while, last time I checked it was 33
>Even a skelly 13 year old can bench the bar
My gf can't even squat the bar (she can do 45lbs with dumbells but she has issues stabilizing the bar)
so you accomplished absolutely nothing today?
from zero to hero
Oh and eventually I trained enough to do one armed pushups, then I switched to weighted dips and then to bench. Just hit 1pl8 3x5 tonight too, 10lbs more than my bodyweight. 2pl8 here I come
It doesn't matter how weak you start out at, you get out what you put it. You'll get there as long as you don't give up
Add a little bit of squat, just enough momentum to get you to press the bar. Then focus hard on the descent, controlling as much as you can. Keep reducing the amount of squat you incorporate until you can do it standing.
The gym should have super light training bars.
Nothing feels as good as being disciplined desu
I can do 185x3 standing. Seated is mainly for strength training
you're just going to have to up volume on lower weights until you can start doing the bar
Jesus. What is it like to be pure fat? Is it actually physically exhausting for them to even lift their own arms up?
Literally yes
I'm gonna have to have a chat with my priest. A loving God would not have made this world.
A loving god gave you the tools to make your body in the image of an ideal. Many are lost, sadly, but the light does shine.
kill yourself
Try benching an invisible barbell
You could always say you benched an atmosphere
Seated is shit abd so are you
I used to be exactly like that and I can attest that... yes.
I got better tho.
>can't squat even without bar
just kill me now
Do you have fucked up legs or are you a girl?
neither, I hope. I think it's a balance issue
>feel like trying 1pl8 today just to see how it feels like
>afraid of JUSTing my shoulders
>be slav
>can easily slav squat for 1+ hour
>squatting ass to grass super easy
>German friend
>can't slavsquat, loses balance
>shit form on squats, no progress, gives up at one point
How do I get a 13 year old gf
A friend had this problem, here's what he did:
Get one of those bosu balls
Set it up next to a post
Squat on it, use the post for balance as necessary
You look retarded 'cause your legs go all whacky and wobbly, but it fixes things eventually.
>Gym has no squat rack
>Only shitty "low ceiling" cage
>Have to power clean every set
No fucking wonder my OHP is stalling
Stop user, you're hurting her!
if this is your homegym and you have pillow waifu, unironically kys
try standing up pussy
Idktf, did you guys never play a sport in your whole lives? Even just for the fun of it?
Do your parents not love you?
Based
respect /fitjp/, faqqot
I started the same, my dude. Just keep at it.
seated are more difficult. Standing is easy to pad numbers because you can use your legs.
does 22.5lb dumbbell on each side = OHP the bar
or is it 45lb dumbbell each side? im a brainlet please help
bar weighs 20kg, so 10kg dumbbells, but seated OHP is far easier than standing so take that into account
well said
Not the people you replied to but no, I never played any sports ever. And I failed on the bar with 2.5kg on each side the first time I went to the gym.
just use dumbbells until you get there nerd
>18y/o 5'7 115lb skelly
>can barely bench the bar
>struggle but able to ohp the bar
I regret stopping back when I was 16y/o and going to the gym. My lifts back then weren't much better but I feel like shit when I think about my current lifts.
I mean I was a 6’ 60kg skelly when I went to the gym, and I can’t imagine people skinnier than that
I never failed with the bar though
dumbbell weight doesn't translate literally into barbell though
when you lift dumbbell you lift TWO objects, one with each of your arms
when you lift barbell you lift ONE object with both arms together
you can lift heavier barbell than you lift dumbbells summed up
>can't deadlift the bar
>Can't even power clean two plates
Almost though. I still feel like a failure until I've done it.
Dumbbell OHP is easier than BB OHP though
started 6'1 54 kg here, if you can believe it
Never failed the bar either
I think you'd have to have like muscular dystrophy or something?
>can't OHP my arms
>implying anyone actually posts OC like this anymore
You're counting the bar?
