Wow since you said this I just realized its true. I wonder where my anxiety and tiredness in the afternoon went. It's because I quit caffeine about 2 months ago lol. I used to be really addicted 400mg+ a day now I have 2-3 cups of coffee a week only and wow the anxiety has decreased so much.

it didn't cause my depression but quitting caffeine makes handling depression a lot easier. some other benefits I appreciated were improved sleep, improved digestion and the odd thing was I wound up having less pains and aches and I have a theory why. caffeine helps with pains and aches on the short term but over the long run its performance aiding benefit causes you to push your body harder than it should thus causing more pains and aches so getting off of it actually leads to a naturally superior physical state. it also improved my digestion as coffee was pretty much the sole source of heartburn in my diet. the biggest problem I had with quitting was I'd get mild headaches and became irritated easier. I think for the average person there's probably no sense in quitting coffee.

I had clinical anxiety before I was in preschool, and I didn't start drinking soda until much later. I would burst into uncontrollable tears and not speak to anyone except my family, and I'd have panic attacks if I was in a crowd. The depression started after third grade, though.

Anecdote time. Two years ago or so i started having panic attacks out of nowhere in social situations. Like to the point where i couldnt be in the same room as anyone without feeling like i needed to jump out of my skin. Doctor put me on Paxil, but at the same time i quit coffee cold turkey. Gradually the panic stopped. Slowly ive been tapering the Paxil and replacing it with CBD. I'm down to 1/4 of the lowest dose and still feeling good.
I'll never know if it was the paxil or if quitting coffee really did save me.

What to replace caffeinated beverages with in the morning and during lunch? I usually go for tea but I have been meaning to cut out caffeine all together. Only other thing I drink is water.
Coffeine + Green Tea (L-Theanin) greatly improves productvity, alertness and a state of relaxation. The thing is the coffeine can come from better sources than from Coffee or Energy.
