You're flexing your traps. You can't tell how big your neck is.
To train neck just lie on a bench with your head hanging off it, put a xx lb plate on your forehead (hold with your hands) and just slowly lift your chin towards your chest and back. 4x12
Then flip on your stomach and do the same with the plate on the back of your head.

I have never in my life seen someone squat without giraffe neck posture. People look up, they look forward, and even when they look down their cervical spine is clearly not in line with thoracic. Many of them don't close their mouths.
Honestly, can someone provide me a reason why this doesn't totally fuck up your neck development as your lifts go up? As your squat increases, your front neck muscles should get bigger.

do NOT do weighted neck exercises. I did them for a week and had a FUCKED neck for over a month cause of it

asides from direct neck work, i've noticed that focusing on engaging the front neck muscles during lifts helps. i'm basically mewing when I lift, it really is noticeable. I'll have a decent neck pump at the end of a workout

I started working out on my neck about a month ago. I do it at home. I started out with 1,25 kg plate, which I placed on the back of my head when doing neck extensions, on my forehead when doing neck flexions, and on the side on my head when doing lateral raises. I started out with 12 repetions, worked up to 20, then switchd to 2,5 kg and started with 12 repetitions again. I do three sets. In only a month I have visible gains and less tension headaches and migraine. I usually strech my neck afterwards, since I sometimes get a bit sore especially at the back of my head.
