I'm always fascinated by people who make history in either sports..life...philosophy etc. And the people around them just fade away...its like how? Is it all just work ethic or luck or destiny...thoughts?
History makers
Remember survivor bias. For every person we remember bigly, there could be 100 of similar talent we forget.
its probably just nofap
none of those people are history makers. they're contemporary, and they will be forgotten within 50 years
Very interesting...yet those 100 were never given the lime light you could say.
Well its probably because they know how to market themselves/their product.
Of those 4, Bill Gates is probably the only one.
Really ?
50 years seems a bit soon user.
Only Gates will be even semi-regularly remembered in 5 centuries though.
True...in his field yea. Arnold in his will be some kinda huge legend well past his death...agree?
>MFW I don't even know that nigger's "name"
FeelsGoodMan
Very good point..imagine 500 years from now will humanity even celebrate them
what the fuck did bill gates ever do? start a company? did he even invent any shit or did he just pay some other nerds to do it for him like the apple guy?
Probably just Gates. People remember rich fuckers. In 100 years we'll talk about him the way we talk about Rockefeller or Carnegie or Ford today.
Never thought of it that way...good point
Bill Gates created Microsoft and the windows operating system, I guess he spent many days and nights coding loads of fucking line but what do I know. Still, I’d say that his achievements shit on the others, although mayweather is one of, if not the greatest defensive boxers of all time, very rich, very smart and un-brain damaged.
Arnold is of the generation of the earliest set of steroid users and the golden era physique, crafted his body into a literal greek/roman marble statue.
Dicaprio is an amazing actor chad that can play many different characters and roles
They preserved and marketed themselves to make them stand out
For DiCaprio you might have a point... but, best bodybuilder of all time will be forgotten in 50 years? Possibly the best boxer of all time with historically the best record ever will be forgotten? The guy who made fucking Microsoft will be forgotten? Are you dense or what. And to answer the question, all of those guys worked incredibly hard and made sacrifices in life that the common man simply cannot comprehend in order to excel at what they did. Except DiCaprio, who although probably worked hard to be a good actor, is basically most well known for being handsome.
Combination of talent, hard work, luck, and promotion.
They'll be remembered, but more in their niche. Every boxer and boxing fan knows who Jack Dempsey is, every lover of the theater knows Oscar Wilde, etc.
>Bill Gates created Microsoft and the windows operating system,
That nigga litterally did not write a single solitary fucking line of code that went into windows.
He bought it then he paid people who actually knew what they were doing to actually write and expand it.
He then used his rich(and honestly evil)father to use his connections to push the absolutely INFERIOR ms-dos operating system as the os of the american military over far better os's.
There.
The cat is out of the bag.
Now that's a great breakdown...dont forget out of all those 4 Arnold came from impossible odds and even became and action star.
>Mayweather is very smart and un-brain damaged
kek
It's crazy how lester people with bigger talent never get noticed.
honestly, everything after ww2 should be wiped from history. we're living in the dark ages, i can't think of a single person who would be deserving of a place in history who came around after ww2. seriously, is an actor, a nigger, a bloated roid monkey with bdd (who was also an actor and a puppet politician), and a nerd who made a lot of money really the best we have to offer?
i knew it
ww2 will be forgotten long before any of the men in the op.
Unfortunately you are correct...most kids nowadays have no clue how it even started
I want to disagree with you, but I'm having a hard time.
There are people who are obviously important because of their positions- US Presidents are most obvious. But beyond that it's hard.
Elon Musk MIGHT be soemone we remember in 50 years, but it really depends on his legacy.
No one knows how ww1 or the civil war or the prussian war started.
Why should they?
the only person who will be remembered is the guy who fixed all this shit. if some kind of super-hitler 2.0 can somehow uncuck the earth he will be viewed as a god in the history books. some king of some kind.
if that doesn't happen, everything and everyone will probably be forgotten and it will just be full blown AIDS world dystopia
good, maybe they'll stop milking it for fps games
I'll be so happy when people completely forget about hitler and the nazis.
One day I want my grandchildren to look at the swastika used by the nazi's and wonder why it's backwards.
>...simply moderate giftedness has been made worthless by the printing press and radio and television and satellites and all that. A moderately gifted person who would have been a community treasure a thousand years ago has to give up, has to go into some other line of work, since modern communications put him or her into daily competition with nothing but world's champions...
Vonnegut - "Bluebeard"
>Hasn't been a great inventor since Tesla
>Hasn't been a great artist since Escher/Van Gogh (subjective)
>Hasn't been a great composer (musicians) since Saint-Saens
>Has only been two great philosophers since Evola (zyzz and pic related)
>Hasn't been a great writer since Tolkein
>Hasn't been a great visionary since Hitler
>Hasn't been a great leader since Genghis
He's right. But most people don't even remember these.
We've got a lot more technology and lots of people seem important. But great contributions? Not really. Maybe top businessmen musk/bezos/etc when they start mining asteroids, settle mars and use whatever new inventions let them live for centuries. But that's money, science, engineering and industry rather than real creation or expression of humanity.
>Hasn't been a great visionary since Hitler
Imagine being this big of a faggot. Bill Gates was the founder and CEO of Microsoft you fucking clown. He's the mastermind of the entire company.
oops pic
user.
What exactly did bill gates do to make microsoft so powerful.
No seriously.
Enlighten me.
A combination of luck, work ethic, and genetics.
only arnold and gates will last
What’s a good routine to follow to be remembered by humanity for centuries ?
gas kikes x F
I didn't say he was right or wrong. That's irrelevant to having a vision and acting it out.
Maybe Martin Luther King Jr, but he was more a spokesman for a movement than visionary, or whoever started feminism.
He is the visionary. There is literally no way to quantify all that man did to create one of the most valuable companies on planet earth.
Tell me, have you ever created anything of value user?
he was actually more of a commie CIA puppet nigger
>he made a lot of goybucks
>HE""S MY HERO!!!!
there's actually some really interesting common traits that pretty much everyone at the top of their respective field share, be it sports, business, academics, or artists
1. be a very diligent worker, make sure your daily routine is centered around your goals first and foremost, try to reduce the time you sped playing vidya/browsing the internet to a minimum
2. meditate. that doesnt necessarily mean sitting with your legs crossed or whatever, it just means regularly getting into a 'flow state' with something, and traditional meditation is a great way to train that. when you can entirely shut out the outside world and get rid of all distractions you can focus on what you're doing 100%, and incorporating some practice where you set aside some time every day (half an hour is good, an hour is better) to just focus and clear your mind, the easier it is to get into a flow state. think of it like a muscle, the better you work it out, the stronger it is and easier it is to use. Meditation is like a meta-skill that improves all of your other skills by virtue of the fact that is helps you concentrate and achieve flow state easier.
3. read an hour a day, read educational books by people who are professionals or veterans in whatever feild youre trying to succeed in.
4. honourable mentions that can help a lot but arent AS common ins successful people- exercise (your brain is a very complex system designed to get you from point a to point b, your nervous system is pretty much ONLY there to help you move around, and your brain is a product of that. the more cardio, the better your brain function) managing addiction (addictions, the psychological kinda, are hard to get rid of because they simultaineously stimulate your hippocampus and damage or incapacitate your pre-frontal cortex, the parts of your brain that govern impulse and self control respectively.if youre addicted to porn (or anything really) it can damage your ability to make good decisions and resist impulses)
Yea i look up to ben shapiro too
He didn't actually do anything except use his fathers money and position to leverage msdos as the operating system of the american military.
That's it. He and balmer only strongarmed multiple companies into using the OS since then and backed the hilariously incompetent linux desktop os as a false alternative to control the brilliant young programmers and push the WORK FOR FREE AND GIVE THE GOODS TO MAJOR COMPANIES idiocy that is the foss or whatever movement.
It's a damned joke at this point.
Bill gates himself said he was privileged. During college he was one of the few people who had exposure to coding during the time. Remember watching a doc years ago on it
Yes, they will all fall by the wayside. Quirks of an era only geeks will remember
Very very good stuff...I'm gonna screenshot that...great insight bud
Just because he has a good record doesn’t mean he’s ever fought anybody worth a shit.
Great men of history are usually frauds that stole other people’s work. Everybody remembers Einstein, nobody remembers Poincare or the dozens of other scientists from whom he cribbed. Everybody remembers Pasteur, nobody remembers Bechamp even though the former basically half-assedly copied the latter’s experiments without understanding them and drew bullshit conclusions that still plague medicine today. Everyone remembers Alexander the Great, nobody remembers his commanders who saved his stupid ass from making a number of catastrophic mistakes during his invasion of Persia and the rest of the world.
physicist here, you have no fucking idea why Einstein is still remembered, or what exactly he did, and why that was so important and unique
lol all our greatest people are busy wage-cucking because that's the only route available in this shitty domesticated zoo of a life we live
all the richfags aren't great, they're just lucky, autistically focused on avarice, and greedy
are jeff bezos or bill gates or steve jobs people worth remembering? or do we only even mention them because they generate the most income in this shitfest society?
notice how folk-lore of great communal people disappeared? being a good person is no longer a virtue.
the only aspect we value these days is the ability to generate cashflow, that's entirely it
regardless of the person you are, if you don't generate big bucks, you're worthless
t. STEM grad who had desires to contribute to science & improve the world but instead has to resort to working in a lab doing research on viagra-esque products because the only thing that matters is your ability to generate revenue
man fuck this shit, I can't blame these fags who become an hero
this life sucks ass
fuck i'm mad
Vaccination a shit.
rich russel
More 20 year olds know 69 or bobby shmurda than any of these 4 guys. It's all relative and none of them are history makers.
Also STEM (kinda) got into it to help the environments and shit. What a joke.
Yeah hence the distinction between actual greatness in creation, and what is prescribed as greatness by measuring against other people in the one common attribute everyone cares about - money. A lot of those greatest creators were dirt-poor their entire lives and it wasn't until later they were recognised. There's really no such thing as human endeavour anymore, just as you say wage-cucking because the people who could do more fall into the trap of making themselves wage cuck, and the ones who avoid it are too hippy-dippy to really contribute or dismissed because of it.
I wonder if we really have a spirit anymore. A collective soul. Is it crying out? Why can't we hear it?
I think that's been taken from us, because art and meaning that people identify with the most is just what is advertised to them the most, and what they think is already the most successful. Like those top couple of pop-singers who have half their songs written for them and a team of producers, or copycats thereof, and the hollywood "culture". There's no time or love to find anything else really for most people. Some kind of dystopian nightmare right.
/manifesto. Fun echo chamber.
>Mayweather
>smart
>unbraindamaged
Wasn't it proven that he can't even read?
Hell, Microsoft might be hardly remembered in a hundred years.
