>Mix these in a liter of water and sip it throughout the day.
The apple cider vinegar and lemon are optional.
You can also do this if you feel lightheaded, weak, dizzy, nauseous, etc., on shorter water fasts. Don’t do this while intermittent fasting.

>Won’t I go into starvation mode?
No. It only occurs at extremely low body fat (8-10%).

>Will (something with calories) break my fast?
Yes, headass.

>Can I drink coffee, tea, and diet soda? Or anything with artificial sweeteners?
You can do whatever the fuck you want. We recommend avoiding those, sweeteners especially.

If you feel good, sure. If you are struggling, stick with what works. But the more fasts you do, the easier it gets and longer you can go. It really depends how much you have to lose and how aggressive you want to be

What's Hmb?
You need potassium and sodium.
Don't take leucine.

Alternatives such as coconut water and cucumber contain calories, it will break your fast. Quickest recipe:

1 liter water
4700mg potassium
2500mg sodium.

If you need more than one liter of water, then keep potassium the same but increase sodium by 2500mg per extra liter of water. So potassium is fixed, sodium is variable according to your water inake.

1/2 ts baking soda
1/2 ts pottasium chloride
1/4 ts pink salt
1/4 ts magnesium powder (if you wanna go longer then 2 weeks or just want to complete your electrolyte drink.)
in 1 liter of water. then only drink that. if you run out make more or make double or triple ahead of time.
tastes pretty decent and you can take like 1 glass of tea or water a day if you really want something else. i just went a whole week only drinking above and felt great.

It's different, not necessarily better. May taste better, I haven't tried it. Whatever works for you.

its way more diluted then the original recipe and thus tastes much better. plus the baking soda makes it taste even better and prevents any acidity issues that you might get.

this works because it is then assumed you dont drink anything else because it is the perfect balance.
the original recipe just blows you with a certain amount of salts that might be to much or little depending on ho much other stuff you drink.

You can lift while fasting, but don't try to set world records. Fasting results in autophagy, meaning unnecessary proteins (loose skin) will get converted to something else. I haven't an issue with loose skin, so I can't speaking from experience.

If I haven't lifted for an extended period is it worth starting again if I intend to fast for an extended period? Or should I stick to light cardio and delay lifting until I hit a lower weight and start body recomp?

as long as you have sufficient body fat to feed your daily energy requirement

Fasting has priority, lifting and cardio are extra. Do what suits you, just don't tax yourself while doing it. The fasting will most of the fat away, excercise keeps you busy and active which is good.

Plain water is not recommended for extended periods. Take your electrolytes during the day or you'll hit a wall down the road. You need the salts, because you piss them out and sweat them out.

You mean snake juice with lemon? You could do that, it's good for kidneys and liver. Better take the lemon juice separately instead of mixing in with snake juice, so it won't hit your teeth when drinking throughout the day.

What's the consensus on working out while doing a 24 hour water fast?

I do 30 minutes of HIIT cardio and 30 min of weights. I want to go to the gym in a couple of hours and wondering if it's a good idea or maybe i should have a lighter workout?

Autophagy is when you dont get adaquate protein from food, like in fasting, so technically just eating fats to break your fasts preserves the autophagy. Thats what Im doing rn, IF and fats leafy greens only, occassional apple. I tried lifting real light and got gassed out quick but in the long game I have more concerns about loose skin than lifting, also I coming out of some nice gains the last 3 months. Supposedly even muscles can get keto adapted though but it does take time. Dr. Dom Dogastino has been keto two years or so I figure and DLs over 400lbs.

Cole says don't work out during the first 48h. I say don't work out on the second day of a fast. Also, listen to your body. 24 hour is nothing, just workout.

The most I’ve gone with just water is 5 days. I got weak and when I stood up fast I saw stars. You can do it, but you have less energy.

just drink water, green tea or black coffee and put a pinch of salt in every cup. it won't taste salty but over the course of a day you'll get what you need. this will work fine if you are doing 4 or 5 day fasts, you don't need the potassium for that length.

Does the baking soda help with fatigue? I did a water fast some months back, and had to quit at day 6 because of both nausea and fatigue, couldn't go two staircases without pausing.

I did one meal a day for five days, but I ate only protein and fat (I had a protein shake and 200 g of beef for a total of 500 kcal). I was as nauseaus then. It was probably the ketosis and acidity that made me sick.

Weight loss can. Depends how quickly OMAD loses weight for you. I tend to drop a good few pounds fast, nothing for a few weeks then lose it at a reasonable pace. If you were overweight then it's more likely you're actually becoming regular and you were slightly off.

Is the best way to transition from OMAD to OMAW steadily? I'd like to start eating every 48 hours. I cook for my partner and work 10 hours a day (Not too strenuously though) so just stopping eating suddenly is impractical for me. OMAD alone can't, but calorie reduction can fuck with your periods. To what degree depends on how large your deficit is, you might not menstruate at all for the duration. Your reproductive system being on hold also reduces your TDEE, so keep that in mind if everything slows down.

It's going to be hard to fast until I'm loved given how ugly I am, rip.

I think OMAD, but that's probably my opinion. It's easier to count calories and also protein, carbohydrate and fat. When I'm cutting I try to do it in ketosis so I try to avoid carbohydrates. You're probably going to need more than a touch of milk to break fast, but I'd advice skipping it. Coffee is ok.

I've been meaning to ask this for some time. What happens, in terms of fat loss, when I cause an insulin spike by drinking something with artificial sweeteners that do this, but my calorie intake is close to 0?
I have no carbs to use as energy or to store but my body still needs to get energy from somewhere, so I guess it doesn't 'break a fast' or disturb fat loss?
