I'm a fat fuck. Weight about 250lbs and sick of it. Eating fruits and salads with no dressing doesn't seem to be doing much.
Would running on a treadmill 30-60 mins fine days a week help me lose weight? Will it kill me? I'd be cutting into my sleep allotment so I want to know your thoughts.

Swimming is good for low impact too, although you may want to move to that once you've lost a few pounds or if you're confident enough for it now. Either way if you're working to improve yourself you're doing good.
Dressing is fine. Cut all sugar and complex carbs from your diet. This includes alcohol. Start out by walking two miles a day every day. You can eat all the meat and veggies you want. I guarantee you’ll lose 1lb a week. You didn’t get fat in one summer, it takes just as long to get rid of it. And remember you can not put exercise a bad diet.

Swimming is two fold. 1. it burns lots of calories. 2. the water temp causes your body to work harder to keep your internal temp regulated, thus burning more calories.

I went from 290 to my current 176. Tbh, it's mainly about calories in, calories out as boring as that is. I supplemented by doing very basic dumbell routines at home (1hr every other day or at least twice a week min) and going on long walks up and around my local homes that would take anything from an hour and a half to 2 hours every other day. Walking at a fast enough pace to constantly have your heart rate up will do it.
Get used to being sweaty and tired. After a bit, especially when the weight starts to drop, you'll welcome it. Shows you're changing your body and your mind will thank you for it as well.

Idk if you're doing this already, user, but it's really important you weigh yourself and chart your progress! If you're losing weight, having a plan for it makes it so much easier. You should know how much you want to have lost a month from now, how much you want to have lost a year from now, and you should have a plan you can follow to get there. Your plan should include low impact exercises, and a calorie controlled diet with a manageable deficit.
That or keto. I hear keto is magical somehow.

Food is more important than exercise. Nutrition should be your priority, if you're eating fruit you're doing something wrong.
I unironically suggest trying Jow Forums meme diets to get into it and start learning about nutrition. Read about CICO, keto, intermittent fasting and extended water fasting.
Don't do unsustainable shit like 10hrs of treadmill everyday, instead start walking, walk everywhere, I don't give a fuck if it takes you an hour and half to walk to work, wake up earlier. Also weightlifting is mandatory if you don't want to end up skinny fat.

Dressing is unnecessary and usually shit. Homemade or "natural" vinaigrette is acceptable though. If you do use it, just dip your fork in before each bite, instead of pouring it on. Makes you focus on your meal and eat slower as well.
Just a little lemon juice and a sprinkle of peperoncino works wonders.
