I ALWAYS wake up a couple of times when I sleep. Usually about 2-3 hours after I put my head down. Just ONCE I’d like to sleep from 10-6 straight through.

I've been playing around with sleep schedules because mine are bad. I sometimes go to bed aiming for 10 hours with the intent of waking up in the middle for 2. Apparently used to be popular before gas lamps become cheap. Search second sleep.

Sleep is healthy and good. The holy trinity of a healthy body and mind is

- train hard
- eat well
- rest enough

Sleep lowers cortisol levels (the antagonist of testosterone), it gives your body ample of time to repair broken down muscle tissues and it is great for mental health.

For a well rested sleep you should take core of the following things:

- reduce blue light before bedtime (install a blue light filter on your phone or flux on your pc), you should also dim your apartment lights before going to sleep
- sleep in a room that is as dark as possible
- keep electronics away from your bedside, use a regular old alarm clock so you aren't tempted to check your phone at night
- change your sheets at least once a week
- sleep in a room that is not warmer that 20 °C (unless its summer and can't be avoided - don't blast the AC, the moving cold air is worse than the heat)
