Going to start working on new PR's in the week after next on the Madcow5x5 program. Pretty exited. If all goes well I'll hit 85-90kg bench for reps and 1pl8 ohp for a rep or two. Anybody got experience with madcow as a first intermediate routine? How were the gains, when did you stall?

im 5 feet 11 weight 169 lbs and my deadlift max is a nasty 200 kg, never squated or benched on my life yet i can run a 10.7 100 m sprint FAT time and i have been training for a year, i know guys faster than me who cant even deadlift 300 pounds so lifting is a meme

Yeah, no. I was with you until that. Honestly those OHP and bench numbers are crazy, but 265kg deadlift and 240kg squat is nothing special. I deadlifted 245kg/squatted 205kg in comp and I'm really skinny.

i can reckon a 100 kg OHP and 180 KG bench are not IMPOSSIBLE to get

the lift that relates the most to your bench and OHP potential is you weighted pull up max

some people are lower body dominant others upper body dominant

but a 250 kg deadlift should be as hard to get as a 160-170 kg bench

I didn't say impossible. But no one will get a 180kg bench in 3 years unless they had a very strong athletic background, they are a genetic freak, or they're on steroids.

And, sure, I know I'm really lower body dominant, but I still think 160kg bench is way harder than 250kg deadlift. People's perception of bench vs deadlift is skewed because literally everyone in the gym benches and wants to get a big bench while most people don't take deadlifts seriously.

Suffering from various injuries that keep me from benching, pressing, deadlifting, and non-front squatting. On top of that, I've had knee problems that kept me from doing any kinds of squats until a couple of months ago.
So my main compounds now consist of front squats, chin-ups and rows. Obviously that makes my total low, but my lifts are intermediate at best. Latest stats as of this week at 74kg/178cm
>Front squat 104kg for 3 reps
>Chin ups 2pl8 for 2 reps
>Seal Rows 86kg for 2 reps
Testing 1rm at the end of current cycle in a few weeks.
It sucks being unable to do any of the big main compounds, but the bright side is that ever since I got injured my back and overall posture improved dramatically.
